[Bug 1181106] Re: Failed to change profile to A2DP in 13.04 (Raring) and 13.10 (saucy)

2013-11-27 Thread Laurent Séguin
How i solve it:

1) Modify the /etc/bluetooth/audio.conf

[General]
Enable = Source,Sink,Headset,Gateway,Control,Media
Disable = Socket

HFP=false

[A2DP]
SBCSources=1
MPEG12Sources=0

2) Check for pulseaudio module :
==

$ pactl list | grep -i module-bluetooth

If you dont have :
 module-bluetooth-policy
 module-bluetooth-discover
 module-bluetooth-device

Just do :
$ sudo apt-get install pulseaudio-module-bluetooth
$ pulseaudio -k
$ pactl load-module module-bluetooth-device
$ pactl load-module module-switch-on-connect

3) Connect the bluetooth headset
===

Use blueman to pair, and connect audio sink
Use pavucontrol to change for A2DP (even if blueman said audio profile off)

Please confirm that works for you too.

Sometime, Pulseaudio module-bluetooth-device and module-switch-on-
connect may not remain loaded after a reboot (i didn't seek why).

[Bug 1197395] Re: /run/user/$ID/pulse owned by root and not by the user

2013-10-23 Thread Laurent Séguin
I don't know if it is related, but under XFCE the indicator-sound is
not functional (luckily hotkeys work).

[Bug 74157] safe mode ?

2006-12-02 Thread Laurent Séguin
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

It could append a bug in xorg configuration. A bug in the package, in the
drivers, a mistake in the xorg.conf, etc.
If someone who know the CLI and how to debug, what append for a newbie ?

I suggest to skip to safe mode (something like vga 640*480 60Hz) when a
problem is detected.

** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 74157] Re: safe mode ?

2006-12-02 Thread Laurent Séguin
Hello Lothar,

It is not really a problem (for me), the placement to wishlist is
appropriate.

More explanation :
When a problem came with xorg, you have a notification and that's all, go to
the tty and you clear up.
For a newbie, it is very confusing, he don't know how to resolve it and the
only thing he know is réinstall Ubuntu with the cd.
I think it will very helpful for those peoples, an automatic detection of the
problem and launch the xorg on a safe mode (maybe something like
xorg.conf.rescue ?).
