[Bug 743302] [NEW] gnome-terminal fails to save history
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal Through normal usage gnome-terminal fails to save its bash history once closed. The .bash_history file exists in my home directory. This problem only occurs if using the X button or File > Close to close the terminal. If I use CTRL+D the history seems to be saved. [Bug 640584] [NEW] package man-db 2.5.7-4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: man-db I'm not sure what happened here. I did an upgrade and something in samba errored. The terminal froze and I restarted it. I was then told that I couldn't get a lock on apt/dpkg. I ran these: sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock sudo dpkg --configure -a sudo apt-get install -f It allowed some of the updates to finish, but not all. Samba, winbind and this are all having problems and created apport crashes. There were also various messages about dependencies being 1 ubuntu version behind what was required, the debian versions were the same (eg. packagex.x.x-xubuntu1 and packagex.x.xubuntu2) My dpkg is currently broken and I don't know why. I can not run dpkg at all now. I get this message. dpkg: parse error, in file '/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0018' near line 0: newline in field name `#padding' Running that in google gives me error reports from debian mailing lists regarding bugs involving a lack of freespace. [Bug 194494] Re: telepathy-butterfly crashed with NotImplementedError in _on_error()
Please note this is the bug apport has automatically opened after a crash. I have had about 4 telepathy butterfly crashes in the space of about 5 minutes. The first surprised me as I wasn't anywhere near empathy, I was using rhythmbox at the time. I was using rhythmbox again and once again the the crash occurred. I restarted empathy and experimented changing songs etc. in rhythmbox again and sure enough I got the same error. I have enabled the plugin that sets the empathy status to the current song being played and that seems to be generating some sort of error. The previous crash delivered me to a similar but different report also involving telepathy-butterfly. I hope I'm not just wasting time :) -- telepathy-butterfly crashed with NotImplementedError in _on_error() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194494 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 290509] Re: gnome user switcher applet doesn't work with kdm
This happens in Jaunty too. I installed KDE4 to test it out, put KDM instead of GDM and Gnome begins behaving weird. 1) The mentioned user switcher applet (A problem since this is the only GUI way to log out now) 2) NM continuously asks for passwords in both KDE and GNOME Restoring GDM fixes all this, but not everyone is going to know this. -- gnome user switcher applet doesn't work with kdm https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/290509 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 66860] Re: Bug on Startup
Sorry whats a backtrace? I've never even used evolution, I did an update and all 3 boots since then have come up with a gnome error message with that data in it...I thought it might be a one off but it happened each time. I'm running XFCE too so this gnome error mystifies me. I file searched for libglib and plain evolution in the file browser (nautilis in gnome) and this came back with nothing.
