My /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf contained autologin-user=user. Commenting out this line solved this issue for me. Tested with the latest kernel in -proposed (3.0.0-13.21). I tested with the kernel for Oneiric in -proposed, but it does not solve my problem. Wireless is still disabled.
