[Bug 1547557] [NEW] Low res icon is displayed by default when alt-tabbing
Public bug reported: I've configured my system to use the old alt-tab behavior like so, where it simply cycles through windows and for each window displays an icon rather than the window contents: http://www.randomhacks.co.uk/how-change-ubuntu-unity-window-switcher- back-to-old-style/ However when keepassx is running it displays a very ugly pixellated low res icon. All other apps display a pretty high res icon. I've discovered the root cause is that /usr/share/keepassx/icons/keepassx_small.png is the icon being used. If I simply overwrite this file with /usr/share/icons/hicolor/128x128/apps/keepassx.png, I see a nice high res icon when alt-tabbing. [Bug 1427795] Re: the lock screen/log out window is stuck rendering desktop unusable
After running into several other situations where one of these logout/lock screen dialogs got wedged and I had to reboot, and after losing all my work several times because the default ctrl-alt-del action is to log out rather than lock the screen as it has been in Windows forever, I just set ctrl-alt-del to lock the screen with no prompts or dialogs. So I guess you can close this though I still think this area of ubuntu is poorly implemented -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1427795 Title: the lock screen/log out window is stuck rendering desktop unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1427795/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1428151] [NEW] critical init scripts depend on plymouth!?!
Public bug reported: I removed a bunch of GUI stuff (using apt, not forcing anything) from several virtual machines would use fewer resources. Afterwards service apache2 start just hung. I discovered this is due to the init script calling plymouth --ping which was hanging. The workaround was to set loop=yes in /etc/default/rcS. [Bug 236264] Re: Evolution asks my pasword to unlock the default keyring since last update
I had this problem and I do NOT have auto login enabled, I use a password just like I always have. How can this not be considered a bug? Installing routine package updates on a stable distro should not cause bizarre, inexplicable behavior that I have to search the forums to understand. I'm a senior Linux admin for a large corporation; I've written driver code that's in the 2.6 kernel. If I had to go to the forums and launchpad to resolve this, how are normal users expected to react? You expect them to know what a keyring is and how to manage them? I understand the need for security but at least pop up a user friendly message, like the one you get when an update requires a reboot or a Firefox restart. -- Evolution asks my pasword to unlock the default keyring since last update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236264 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 236949] [NEW] Font sizes all wrong in Firefox and GDM at 1920x1080
Public bug reported: When using 1920x1080 resolution, the font sizes in Firefox and GDM are all wrong. Some pages display OK, but on many others the fonts are either way too small or way too big. GDM has the problem (login/password are displayed in HUGE font) as well as Firefox. Opera seems to behave sanely. I have attached a screenshot of Launchpad which shows the problem. More info: I tried setting DPI to 96 in gdm.conf. Now GDM fonts look great, but Firefox fonts are way too small on some pages, like Launchpad. If I zoom in twice with Ctrl-+ it looks perfect. When I set DPI to 48 (which I confirmed is the actual DPI of the screen) in gdm.conf, the Firefox Launchpad font looks the same as with 96DPI, but now the GDM login font is tiny. -- Font sizes all wrong in Firefox and GDM at 1920x1080 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Well it really sounds like the problem is some kind of race or inadequate serialization between mail reading/deleting and new mail coming in. All I do to reproduce the bug is have a POP3 account (leave mail on server disabled) subscribed to 20-30 mailing lists including very high volume ones like linux-kernel and just leave Evo open all the time and use it normally, and the bug hits every week or so.
