Are there any patches for it? Can I repair it by hand (reprogramming)? Scanning is for my friend very important, otherwise we must to use another "Canon-compatible" distro. Sorry, but when I firstime wrote glxgears, values was cca 900 FPS, but after restart see I this: glxgears 2405 frames in 5.0 seconds = 480.483 FPS 2140 frames in 5.1 seconds = 419.125 FPS 2272 frames in 5.0 seconds = 453.666 FPS but direct rendering is ON... Wow, it works for me and it seems stable :-). Thanks a lot! In Hardy it works very very unstable, but this is another bug. I used "sudo apt-get install libviaxvmcpro1 libviaxvmc1 xserver-xorg- video-openchrome" and in xorg.conf I changed values via to vesa, but ONLY driver option, not board ;). So... this is working, but much much slower as VESA driver and very very unstable (3D is not working correct and in 90 percent must I restart my laptop ). Glxgears is OK, it is interesant... Openchrome was useful on Feisty Fawn, but in Gutsy Gibbon is it not useful, sorry. I do not know why... And 2D is also very slow, for example when system is starting... I heard about drivers from viaarena.com, is it possible to use it? Is it better as OpenChrome? I have similar problem on my laptop (Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro V2055). In Feisty works wifi very good (after bcm43xx-fwcutter installation), but in Gutsy is problem. Gutsy shows me a dialog with option to enable this and automaticcaly installs bcm43xx-fwcutter. There are two possibilites - download fw file from server or from disk. When I click on server downloading, fw downloads, when I click on find local file (or similar), it makes nothing. I have fast latest version of Gutsy and I must download via ethernet cabel. Wifi doesnt work for me in Gutsy. bcm43xx-fwcutter is still installed. I do not use ndiswrapper, in FF I had some problems with it. bcm43xx-fwcutter was very good in FF. Souhlasím, toto je nezaujatý pohled. Překlad rozhodně musí být správně, jinak by systém uživatele otrávil a to my přeci nechceme. Také si myslím, že hádat se tu o malichernostech typu kliknout a klepnout je nesmysl. Všichni přece známe již zažitý překlad a tak ho jednoduše použijeme. A pokud není jazykově až tak správně, měli bychom se zamyslet, jestli není zapotřebí aktualizovat pravidla českého pravopisu (když např. čtu knihy ze začátku minulého století, divím se, kolikrát je tam s místo z a občas to zní i pěkně, někdy ale ne.). Mě se třeba osobně líbilo, že Petr tyto věci konzultoval s odborníky. Proč ne. Je to na místě. Avšak nemělo by se to přehánět. Nechci se lingvistiků nijak dotknout, ale přijde mi, že mnoho z nich se soustředí spíše na studie jazyka jako takového a ne vhodného použití pro operační systém (jestli to není pravda, prosím nekamenovat ;) ). Proto bychom se na překlad měli dívat z několika úhlů, jak tady už zaznělo. 1. uživatel 2. pousouzení nezávislými odborníky 3. čistota jazyka (např. na budiž jsem si už zvykl, ale mnoho lidí zvyklých na Windows na něj kouká s otevřenou pusou a některé to i odradí od testování linuxu, ano, s tím jsem se také setkal). Hello, audio-output on my laptop is now working. How? I enabled in sound configuration "Duplicate Front". I can to change volume only with PCM - it must be enabled (not normal via icon on the panel). Sound is good, but too "3D". Can in next version of Ubuntu (7.04) this sound card enabled by standard? I wish the icon on the top panel is functionally. Sorry for my English ;). Public bug reported: Hi, I have problem with my laptop FS Amilo Pro V2055. My external speaker (or headphones and so on) doesn't work. In Windows XP it works. Internal speaker is still OK.
