[Bug 1009080] [NEW] pulse audio plugin seg fault on 64 bit 12.04
Public bug reported: To reproduce: 1. Execute Scratch using current VM and pulse plugin (on Ubuntu 12.04, 64 bit system): Executing: /usr/lib/squeak/4.4.7-2357/squeakvm -encoding UTF-8 -vm-display-x11 -xshm -plugins /usr/lib/scratch/plugins/:/usr/lib/squeak/4.4.7-2357/ -vm-sound-pulse /usr/share/scratch/Scratch.image (There is no pulse plugin in /usr/lib/scratch/plugins in my installation package, so it must be using the one in /usr/lib/squeak/4.4.7-2357) 2. Same thing, Precise final, xorg log attached. [Bug 868400] Re: Synaptics touchpad stops working - two syndaemon instances running
I did a clean install of 12.04, followed by a deja-dup restore of a backup of my home directory. I then enabled disable touchpad while typing. Then I began having these symptoms. Previously, (when I was on 11.10 , from which the backup was made) I had created a custom syndaemon launcher startup because the normal disable touchpad while typing didn't work very well (cursor would still jump sometimes when I brushed the touchpad while typing). I didn't realize this would persist in startup applications preferences after the clean install followed by restore. Apparently it did, and so I got this error - two syndaemons running. Just posting on the off chance others make the same mistake. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868400 Title: Synaptics touchpad stops working - two syndaemon instances running To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/868400/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 885279] [NEW] Thinkpad X220 fails to suspend after removal from dock
Public bug reported: Thinkpad x220 will suspend normally when not booted in dock, or booted in dock but not removed. Once the powered on system has been removed from dock, suspend fails every time. There is some potential for hardware damage as a result of this bug, since removing from the dock, closing, and placing it in an enclosed space like a backpack or briefcase creates an unsafe situation. [Bug 620529] [NEW] Show main window after launching Rhythmbox
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox After launching an application, the normal expectation is that its window should appear in the foreground. On my Ubuntu 10.04 system this is not the case when opening Rhythmbox (0.12.8) . The only change is that the icon appears in my panel, which I must then click to cause Rhythmbox to appear. This breaks many conventions of application behavior, and could be confusing for new users who may not have noticed the appearance of the icon. Even for those that do, a common need after opening an application like Rhythmbox is to play something. So it seems as though it would be best if it appeared in the foreground after being launched. Many thanks to all those who have contributed time and energy to this project. ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Show main window after launching Rhythmbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620529 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: electricsheep After installing electricsheep ( 2.7~b12+svn20091224-1ubuntu1 ) on Lucid, power management settings to turn off monitor after x idle time were no longer heeded. Other users of electricsheep have reported similar problems: http://community.electricsheep.org/node/572 Doing a complete uninstall of electricsheep seems to resolve this issue. [Bug 579619] [NEW] PulseAudio sound plugin causes choppy playback running Scratch
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: squeak-vm When running Scratch with this VM (1:3.11.3+svn2147-1ubuntu1 ) on Lucid, sound playback using the vm-sound-pulse plugin is choppy, as is sound recording. To test: 1. Install squeak-vm and Scratch (http://info.scratch.mit.edu/Scratch_1.4_Download ) 2. Run Scratch using this VM, rather than the one that is currently bundled with it: squeak -vm-sound-pulse /usr/lib/scratch/Scratch.image 3. Select Scratch Cat sprite. Click sounds tab, play button on meow. The current version of Scratch bundles its own VM and pulse plugin that works well (just run scratch without specifying this vm to test).
