Thanks.

[Bug 1120660] Re: Kernel Panic when running 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' ?

2013-02-14 Thread Lito
I have the same problem.

I have my /var/log/ folder in a tmpfs filesystem and the dpkg
--configure -a and I have a script to create the default /var/log and
/var/cache folders. The folder /var/log/upstart exists.

Please, can you explain me where I need to add the "--no-log" option?

Thanks :)

[Bug 1091309] Re: Keyboard is very slow

2012-12-20 Thread Lito
With the kernel suggested by Fabio Marconi (v3.5 final:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.5-quantal/) the
keyboard works fine, and all the computer seems to be more fast.

Anyway, I continue with random mount errors at start, always with /tmp
folder which isn't in a different mount point...

I usually get a "The disk drive for /tmp is not ready yet or not
present" at start.

I need to do the apport-collect when I start with this "new" kernel?

[Bug 916890] Re: "Waiting for network configuration" on every boot

I have the same problem, but the waiting message doesn't appear when I
have the ethernet wire pluged.

With the wire the computer boots fine, but without the wire (having
enabled or disabled the wireless) I need to wait the first and second
message.

[Bug 921995] Re: lightdm doesn't start: Maximum number of clients reached

2012-01-27 Thread Lito
The problem seems be unity-greeter.

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1871466

I had the same problem, and it was due to unity-greeter segfaulting
(visible in /var/log/kern.log).

I purged unity-greeter and installed lightdm-gtk-greeter, and modified
/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf to use "greeter-session=lightdm-gtk-greeter".

It works.

2011-01-11 Thread Lito
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

The mouse icon it's always with the waiting animation.

If I attach the "Window List" to any panel, the window list start to
generate infinite windows (no real window, only in task bar).

I don't get errors in logs.

Attach a image with the top register and task bar after one second.

Aún actualizando varias veces ubuntu 9.04 el error persiste.. Me tocó ir a
unos archivos que menaja la actualización del sistema (La ubicación la daba
el reporte del error), quitar los temporales y el problema quedó resuelto.

[Bug 295593] Re: VIM don't refresh the content correctly

2008-11-09 Thread Lito
With the 173.14.12 nvidia driver works fine, then it's a 177.68 driver
problem.

[Bug 295593] Re: VIM don't refresh the content correctly

2008-11-09 Thread Lito
More about this bug:

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=118479

Resume:

I recently switched from the stable driver (173.14.12) to 177.68,
applied the tweads in the sticky thread to my xorg.conf, and performance
in general improved a lot. Smoother scoll in firefox, my X server not
completely hanging for some seconds every time firefox tries to load an
image, etc.

However, performance in terminal applications seems to be worse. With
the stable driver, sometimes performance when scrolling in konsole or
when using emacs in a terminal, was awful, but for some reason after
executing "nvidia-settings -g" it got fixed for some time, maybe two
hours as average, so I ended up having a loop in background calling
nvidia-settings -g every 30 minutes. Powermizer was always in mode 2
(maximum performance), before and after executing nvidia-settings -g.

With this beta driver, performance in the terminal seems to be always
bad, and it doesn't improve executing nvidia-settings -g. Furthermore,
sometimes serious glitches appear when scrolling in less or emacs, as
some lines don't get refreshed as expected, ending up with an awful mix
of old and new lines. In the stable driver usually scrolling down was
ok, but scrolling up didn't refresh the last line of the output,
sometimes the last two or three lines. Sometimes, there were lines in
the middle not being refreshed, but resetting the terminal seemed to fix
the issue. Now it's usually worse.

This happened in the stable driver but less frecuently, and always
happened in opera 9.52 when scrolling on any long website (well, I just
tried to reproduce it with the beta driver and it seems much better, but
scrolling is not as smooth as in firefox)

It may be related to the refresh problem that appears in firefox when
loading an image: if you're loading an image and its bigger than the
firefox window, it'll be resized to fit the window, but with the latest
driver, every time you load a resized image it'll appear almost black
(see: http://img28.picoodle.com/data/img28...gm_d33afc7.png). When you
click on the image to get the full size, it shows ok, and if you click
to resize it again it's still fine. This only happens if you have
focused the tab of the image while the image is loading. If you wait for
it to load in a background tab, when switching to the image tab the
image will appear fine right away.

Scrolling in xterm was and keeps being perfect.

[Bug 295593] [NEW] VIM don't refresh the content correctly

2008-11-08 Thread Lito
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vim

I have problems with the VIM refresh. With "big" files (more than 100
lines) VIM can't refresh the content correctly and the lines are cut and
all content it's crazy until I run control + L. Would be a buffer
problem?

I'm Using:

OS: Ubuntu 8.10 32bits
Editor: VIM - Vi IMproved 7.1
Filesystem: RaiserFS / XFS
CPU: Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550
RAM: 4Gb DDR3

I attach one video with my problem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcqhsmVu_Kg

Which more information can I add?

[Bug 268345] Re: [Intrepid] Start up blocked on "Loading hardware drivers"

2008-10-21 Thread Lito
I can't run Ubuntu Intrepid LiveCD because always stops in the "Loading
hardware drivers" line.

No errors or messages, only stop. After this message don't work the
keyboard.

My hardware:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R
Processor: INTEL CORE2QUAD Q9550 (No Overclocking)
Hard Disks: WD RE3 WD5002ABYS - Maxtor 6V320F0 - Maxtor 6Y160M0
SATA RAID/HCI Mode: IDE
RAM: 4Gb Kingston DDR3 1333
Graphics: ASUS EAH3650 PCI-E
PCI: D-Link AirPlus DWL-G520
IDE: DVD RW - Combo CDR + DVD

I had tried a lot of different configs and 64 and 32 bits but any works.

I had installed the last alternate iso and the installation had finished
successfully but in the first boot the system it's locked again in the
same point.

2008-04-01 Thread Lito
I have the same problem with a clean Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 installation.

I can copy some big files but others I can't. The original file isn't
corrupted. The transfer speed is very very slow. I attach my log files.
In windows works fine.

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm using Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty with lasts dist-upgrades. Linux version

Always that I login into the OS I need configure the network and the
screen resolution, if I reboot the system, all changes are lost.

Steps:

1) Turn on the computer
2) Login into my account
3) Start > System configuration > Network config > Admin mode > I change the
default gateway from ath0 to eth0 > Save the changes and close the system
config > All working
4) Start > System configuration > Screen and Monitor > I change the resolution
to 1680x1050 > Save the changes and close the system config > All working
5) I reboot the computer and login into my account
6) Always I need to repeat the 3 and 4 steps. Why?

In all previous Ubuntu versions all the made changes were kept.

I'm using
