I wouldn't call it dramatization. You have to wait some time before menu appears, which is annoying. Sometimes you are in a hurry and just want to, for example, print something as fast as possible. However, I find even more annoying busy mouse pointer (not regular mouse cursor) that is shown much longer. Since Ubuntu comes with the LibreOffice (no equally qualitatve office suite is available so far) it is pitty that LibreOffice team does not consider this an important issue and that it happens for the second time. I don't have problems any more. Ubuntu updated Libre Office to 4.0.3.3 again (even though it already was 4.0.3.3.) and now no delays to submenus. Update was provided today. I don't think it has to do something with Nautilus. If you have one INSTANCE of LibreOffice application opened, the second one will cause this menu problem. Public bug reported: When changing background image in Ubuntu 14.04 (or any earlier version) AND option "Add Show Desktop Icon on Launcher" is previously enabled in Appareance Settings -> "Show dekstop icon" will change its position (order) in launcher (toolbar). So if it was second icon in launcher, it will become the last.
