[Bug 1885270] Re: Touchpad stopped working after upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04

2020-07-20 Thread Lokesh Bamb
Even upgrading the kernel to 5.7.8-050708-generic did not solve the problem.
Also,

 "dyndbg=file drivers/input/* +pt" i8042.debug=1 log_buf_len=32M

command solved the problem for some minutes only then the touchpad again
started to be detected as ps2 generic mouse.

[Bug 1885270] [NEW] Touchpad stopped working after upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04

2020-06-26 Thread Lokesh Bamb
Public bug reported:

When I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04 my touchpad stopped working. When I used
the command xinput to list the input devices there was a PS/2 Generic
Mouse registered instead of my Lenovo Yoga 13 touchpad. I tried to
search for the same on the askubuntu forum. I got the answer that to try
and remove psmouse and then again add it using the command

sudo modprobe -r psmouse; sudo modprobe psmouse

This initially solved my problem but later on the same issue arose after
restarting the machine. The touchpad also is again reported as a generic
mouse if the system is suspended.

 Thanks.
 There nothing relevant in the status file, I can't reproduce it. This was
 probably due to an aborted previous installation.
 If you're still experiencing this, you can fix it by opening a terminal and
 running the following command:
 $ sudo dpkg --configure -a

 It shouldn't be an issue for you anymore, can we close this report ?
