[Bug 1941765] [NEW] Font styling makes Calc slow
Public bug reported: Tested on: Ubuntu 20.04, Libreoffice 6.4.7.2 Ubuntu 21.10, Libreoffice 7.1.5.2 A Calc spreadsheet with random text on few columns and roughly every other row BOLDED is very slow to open and edit. Removing all BOLDING from the document makes it fast again. Same effect can be achieved with font coloring. Likely other font styles too. Other side effects include File, Edit and Tools menubar menus being very slow to open. Test spreadsheet (~50kB, 4k rows) with both bolded and colored rows provided for testing. Takes about minute to load. File menu takes 10 seconds to open each time. The last good version without this considerable slowdown is Libreoffice 6.4.6. Opens in few seconds. Menus are immediate. ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "test3.ods" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1941765/+attachment/5520914/+files/test3.ods -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1941765 Title: Font styling makes Calc slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1941765/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1937343] Re: FireFox 90 unable to install unsigned webextensions
It's not like setting MOZ_REQUIRE_SIGNING to false would allow running unsigned extensions outright. There is also about:config setting xpinstall.signatures.required, that is true by default and needs to be set false by the user before unsigned extensions can be installed. The about:config setting is behind a grave warning about security ramifications if tampered with. Still, if user attempts to install unsigned extension, they are met with another warning dialog and even after accepting that the extension is marked with big warning label about being unverified in the add-ons manager. There is no way user could install unsigned extension by mistake. And indeed this "security hole" has been around for the last 5 years, yet there appears to be no related exploits. The bug certainly does not mention of any. As mentioned, the official way around this is to install one of the Firefox versions that has MOZ_REQUIRE_SIGNING set to false on default. On Windows that might be reasonable. However, none of these are available in Ubuntus repositories. It is not big hassle to install them from Mozillas own sources, but those installations will be user specific, are not covered by the usual update system and are missing any distribution specific patches. The options left for Ubuntu users (or Linux distro users in general) are not reasonable. So that's my take on the reasonability of this. I was really hoping more balanced approach could be taken. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1937343 Title: FireFox 90 unable to install unsigned webextensions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1937343/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1937343] Re: FireFox 90 unable to install unsigned webextensions
Oh that is sad information indeed, but thank you! Unfortunately none of the other versions can be found in the Ubuntu repositories, which means no updates through the regular channel and no distribution specific patches. And having to submit your personal extensions for review is just not OK! As a workaround I have started using a script to modify the omni.ja to set the MOZ_REQUIRE_SIGNING to false. It's a pain but I pray they do not "fix" that too. It would be even a bigger pain to have to build Firefox from scratch each time! I wonder if there is enough like minded persons within Ubuntu users, so that the MOZ_REQUIRE_SIGNING flag could be ACTUALLY set to false on Ubuntu builds. [Bug 762700] [NEW] Some Launcher icons revert to Humanity theme
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity Unity-icon-theme is missing 32px and other alternative sizes for the new Launcher icons. This will cause the Launcher to revert back to Humanity icons when the Launcher icon size is changed to 32px (and possibly other sizes too). To replicate: Go to Unity plugin in ccsm and resize the Launcher icons to 32px. At this point the icons are likely to just scale down while keeping the theme. Go to Appearance Preferences. Switch to Clearlooks theme and then back to Ambiance. The icons should revert to Humanity icons right after the Appearance Preferences window is closed. The icons will get the unity-icon-theme back after login, but will revert to Humanity after some time or activity. I agree with Sebastien Bacher, Bazon and Garthhh. Launcher should not show icons for all open programs but only for those in the current workspace. Best way/time to present all the open windows in the Launcher would be to do that only in the overhead (Expo) mode. [Bug 659478] [NEW] Firefox javascript cssText selector list gets reordered
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox I was trying to do a little javascript script to modify CSS, when I bumped into this little problem/bug: document.styleSheets[i].cssRules[j].cssText The above attribute seems to give reordered selector list if the selectors are not delimetered with whitespaces. Example 1 (selectors delimetered with whitespaces): In CSS file: .someClass #someID { color:red; } Above code outputs: .someClass #someID { color:red; } Example 2 (no whitespaces): In CSS file: .someClass#someID { color:red; } Above code outputs: #someID.someClass { color:red; } In Example 2 the someClass and the someID have changed order. This probably should not happen. Here is a another example to give some sense of pattern: Example 3: In CSS file: .class1:hover.class2#id1#id2:hover.class3#id3 { color:red; } Above code outputs: #id1#id2#id3.class1.class2.class3:hover:hover { color:red; } As can be seen, the hover pseudo classes are completely borked. [Bug 610930] [NEW] Nautilus crashes when trying to form preview of malformed SVG image.
Public bug reported: Symptoms: Nautilus crashes when trying to form preview of malformed SVG image e.g. when opening the containing folder. If the image is placed on the Desktop, Nautilus will go into crash-restart loop. Culprit: Malformed SVG file that has style attribute containing zero length property value. Few examples below: First perfectly OK svg file. - example.svg - WORKING 8 (file cutline) svg circle style=fill:red cx=100 cy=100 r=100/ /svg 8 Removed the red to make zero length fill-value. Will crash nautilus. - example.svg - NONWORKING -8 svg circle style=fill: cx=100 cy=100 r=100/ /svg 8 Added whitespace to make fill-value non zero length. This works again, although the circle will be completely black. - example.svg - WORKING 8 svg circle style=fill: cx=100 cy=100 r=100/ /svg 8 Added standard delimiter right after the :. Fill-value is again zero- length and causes Nautilus to crash. - example.svg - NONWORKING -8 svg circle style=fill:; cx=100 cy=100 r=100/ /svg 8 So it is pretty clear that style attribute containing zero length property value will cause troubles. Hopefully this will help to find and fix the bug.
