[Bug 692657] [NEW] Qjackctl makes the graphical server crash

2010-12-20 Thread Lorenzo Bicci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qjackctl

1) Start Qjackctl.
2) Move the cursor on its windows or its tray icon.
3) The graphical server crashes, and the login screen is displayed.

I don't know if it has something to do with it, but:
- when I start Qjackctl from terminal i get this message:
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".
The program starts, then the same behaviour as above.

When I try to enable desktop effects, I get this message:
The Composite extension is not available
even if the latest proprietary NVIDIA drivers are installed.

2010-12-17 Thread Lorenzo Bicci
Sorry, how do I get it?
I'm on a fully updated Ubuntu 10.10 with standard repositories. The program
version is 0.30.0 and the package version is 0.30.0-1.1, but the bug is still
there.

[Bug 678251] [NEW] subtitleeditor Fatal IO error 11

2010-11-21 Thread Lorenzo Bicci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: subtitleeditor

I installed subtitleeditor.
When I tried to run it from the GNOME terminal, it crashed after a few seconds
with the following error message:

subtitleeditor: Fatal IO error 11 (Risorsa temporaneamente non
disponibile) on X server :0.0.

Risorsa temporaneamente non disponibile = Resource temporarily
unavailable

I tried removing the proprietary ATI graphics driver, then rebooted.

Then I was able to use it, but after some minutes i was no more able to start
and stop the video. It was remaining paused.
I closed it, and when i tried to run it again (with the open source drivers,
this time) the same error was there:

subtitleeditor: Fatal IO error 11 (Risorsa temporaneamente non
disponibile) on X server :0.0.

[Bug 639766] [NEW] Rosegarden makes jackd stop sounding

2010-09-15 Thread Lorenzo Bicci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rosegarden

Any app connected to the soundcard through JACK works normally until I open
Rosegarden.
When Rosegarden is started, no sound can be heard from Rosegarden or other JACK
apps, even if they look correctly connected to the soundcard.
To make JACK apps work again, one must close Rosegarden, stop JACK and restart
it.

Rosegarden sounds correctly (i tested it with an audio file) only after
JACK is stopped while Rosegarden is running, but this works only
sometimes and just for a while.

[Bug 581786] Re: Mute button not enabled by default in Ardour 2.8.6 Lucid AM64

2010-09-06 Thread Lorenzo Bicci
I don't know why, but I swear it worked out of the box!
I don't know if it could be relevant, but it was installed from a DVD
downloaded not more than two weeks ago.

I subscribed this bug because it affected me on another machine on which
I had installed Ubuntu Studio 64bit in June.

I would suggest releasing an updated package for Lucid, if Ubuntu Studio
doesn't want to lose old and new users.

[Bug 511635] [NEW] Rosegarden 1.7.3 exports odd lines in Lilypond files

2010-01-23 Thread Lorenzo Bicci
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rosegarden

When exporting Lilypond files from Rosegarden 1.7.3, a line like this
one appears for every bar:

% absTime = 5760 barStart = 5760

This makes Lilypond files very hard to read and edit, making Rosegarden 1.7.3
quite unusable for score production purposes.
According to one of Rosegarden's developers, these lines were introduced for
debugging purposes. But they still make Rosegarden unusable on Ubuntu 9.10

This behaviour was not present in version 1.7.2 and older ones.
