[Bug 945399] Re: Regression: nautilus not mounting network share in ~/.gvfs

2012-03-05 Thread Lox
Yes as I can:

- mkdir ~/Mount
- /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfs-fuse-daemon ~/Mount

And I then see my shares in that ~/Mount folder. (I used ~/Mount in
case an update would bring back ~/.gvfs)

Also when browsing using nautilus, the location bar still shows smb://
(intended behaviour maybe?)

[Bug 945246] [NEW] Suspend not working on ASUS u30SD

2012-03-02 Thread Lox
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I just installed the 12.04 beta1 and suspend is not working anymore.
When I installed it I choosed replace the ubuntu 11.10 install option.

The screen goes black but the LCD backlight is still on. Then, there is
no way to bring it back, tried CTRL+ALT+F1 to bring the console, tried
the syst req magic keys to reboot. No way.

Hard shutdown is the only thing to do ...

But it was working very good on 11.10.

[Bug 945269] [NEW] Apport-collect fails

2012-03-02 Thread Lox
Public bug reported:

Regarding that bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/945246, I ran

apport-collect 945246

That ended up with those errors:

It then shows an empty crash report window (attached). I then click send
and get:

** Tags added: apport-collected staging

** Description changed:

** Description changed:

[Bug 945373] [NEW] Regression: ALT + Drag doesn't behave how it should

2012-03-02 Thread Lox
Public bug reported:

Normally in Nautilus ALT + Drag of a file shows a question mark and when
released it shows a context menu giving the choice of the action to do
(link, copy etc.)

On 12.04 beta1, pressing ALT when dragging an element in nautilus has
not the espected effect, nothing happens.

WORKAROUND:
- Drag the file
- Press ctrl+alt
- Release ctrl (keeping alt pressed)
- And voila!

[Bug 945399] [NEW] Regression: nautilus not mounting network share in ~/.gvfs

2012-03-02 Thread Lox
Public bug reported:

When accessing a network share, nautilus doesn't mount it in ~/.gvfs as
it used to.

In fact in 12.04, that ~/.gvfs is simply not there...

It is a serious issue as most app can't access network share using
smb:// like, for eg. Ecplipse.

Here we use Ubuntu on all our worksations and we have a developmment
server where every employe connect thru SMB (gvfs) to work on it. With
such a bug, Ubuntu become useless to us.

Apps running in Wine aren't able to access network shares either if not
mounted in .gvfs .

[Bug 903422] Re: Mount / Provide access to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) MTP devices

2011-12-13 Thread Lox
That isn't true that Android 4 will not support anymore usb mass-
storage protocol it is up to device maker to provide sdcard slots or
internal sdcard. In that case mass storage will be available.

But more devices do not have sdcard support or sdcard like internal
memory. So, those are only accessible using the MTP protocol which needs
to be implemented in GVFS to automatically mount in .gvfs users folders.

** Summary changed:

- Mount / Provide access to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) devices
+ Mount / Provide access to Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich, ICS) MTP devices

** Package changed: udev (Ubuntu) = gvfs (Ubuntu)

[Bug 893789] [NEW] gvfs fuse mount is not functional after logout and subsequent login

2011-11-22 Thread Lox
Public bug reported:

If I logout and log back in, the .gvfs forlder doesn't exists anymore,
so I can't access mounted volumes from it. The workaround is to type
those commands in terminal:

[Bug 876335] Re: Insane power consumption on ASUS U30SD laptop and others

2011-11-09 Thread Lox
It could be related to sandybridge bad support. So enabling
i915.i915_enable_rc6 in grub I can get 15000mW with 3.1 kernel and
16000mW with 3.2-rc1, which is still not acceptable ... But the fan
seems quieter with that option set

2011-10-31 Thread Lox
Is it possible to have a statement from the devs please? It seems to
concern a lot of different laptops models, and prevents us from using
that great OS that is Ubuntu on those...

Just tell us. Is it a know issue? Is there anything we can provide (log
etc) to help find the issue?

[Bug 876335] Re: Insane power consumption on ASUS U30SD laptop

2011-10-24 Thread Lox
Turning the NVIDIA card off, putting the LCD backlight to minimum and
and doing:

sudo -i
echo powersave /sys/module/pcie_aspm/parameters/policy
exit

I can sometimes get 14.4W for battery discharge rate but the fan still
runs fast and the laptop still get hot.

[Bug 876335] [NEW] Insane power consumption on ASUS U30SD laptop

2011-10-17 Thread Lox
Public bug reported:

The laptop runs very well, but, compared to when it runs windows, the
fan is always at full speed, the laptop gets hot, and battery life is
only the half.

grep rate /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state is not less than 17000mW (nvidia card
off)
grep rate /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state is not less than 22000mW (nvidia card
on)

Those values were collected doing a simple task: writing this bug report
under chrome. No other app is running. A note: ASUS U31SD users on
Ubuntu forums are reporting much lower value (at least 5000mW less),
they also repported that 11.10 release, increased that consumption that
used to be 8000mW on 10.04
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11354101postcount=17)

It is very annoying, in fact that issue made me use windows, a thing I
haven't done for years ...

I can provide any log, dumps or anything so, just ask.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10
Package: acpi (not installed)
