Notice that bug still affects kernel 2.6.38 though in first analisys it would seem resolved, but carefully reading ec.c code it is possible to see that was only partially resolved! For apply patch you have to digit patch -p1 /pathto/patchfile into linux source directory. If you want simulate patch, add --dry-run option at patch command. I suggest you to apply patchs in this order: - http://launchpadlibrarian.net/37672643/patch from https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/505420 (otherwise compiling exit with error) - https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=25261 ec patch ;) After that you can go on to compile your kernel. Some (badornotbat) news. That issue re-appear after i ibernated and waked up hours after my notebook. I rebooted (by removing the battery :( ) and no other issue appear in last day, where I turned off and suspended the notebook several times. Could it be a problem of hibernation at this point?
