[Bug 416839] Re: 100% processor in use when using card reader

2010-03-15 Thread Luca Zorzi
I tested the Mainline kernel, both yesterday's daily build
(2.6.34-999.201003141003) and with the RC1 (2.6.34-020634rc1) and both
of them had a kernel panic just after GRUB.

I'm writing from Lucid alpha 3, which is running as live CD. The load is
still high, but not as high as it used to be. At least the mouse cursor
moves quite smoothly.

[Bug 416839] Re: 100% processor in use when using card reader

2010-03-14 Thread Luca Zorzi
Hi Jeremy,
this issue is still here in Karmic with latest update, and here you can see
apport data.

I'm downloading Lucid alpha 3 right now and will test it.
I'm also downloading the Mainline kernel, and will try it both in Karmic and in
Lucid.

If you need me to do any further test just ask.

[Bug 470801] [NEW] keybord not working after resume from hibernation

2009-11-02 Thread Luca Zorzi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pm-utils

Since I upgraded my laptop (Acer Aspire 5633 WLMi) to Karmic I have noticed a
strange problem: suspend works flawlessy, but hibernate has a problem it didn't
have with Jaunty: the keyboard stops working after resume.
If I connect a USB keyboard it works fine and I can log off, and in the login
screen the laptop's keyboard works, and continues to work also after login.
It's unresponsive from resume untill I log off.

2009-10-17 Thread Luca Zorzi
I upgraded to Kubuntu Karmic, which ships HPLIP 3.9.4b, and had no luck.
Upgraded to 3.9.8, still no luck.

Than i had an idea: try to connect the printer using the front USB plug
(the one near the card reader): IT WORKS!

It's a workaround, but this bug is still here, as in windows the printer
works well with the rear USB plug.

Hi Naga,
thanks for looking at this bug.

When in frozen state, the hp toolbox reports the printer as
Started/Processing, then if I hit refresh it pops up a message that
says: "Device comunication error (5012)"

I tried to put cups' log level to debug2 but it doesn't start up, when
set to debug it starts, and here is the output

[Bug 416839] [NEW] 100% processor in use when using card reader

2009-08-21 Thread Luca Zorzi
Public bug reported:

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5633 WLMi notebook with an "ENE Technology Inc ENE
PCI Secure Digital Card Reader Controller" (as reported by lspci), and I have
an issue when reading/writing an SDHC: CPU usage goes up to 100% and even the
mouse cursor doesn't move smoothly.
I'm running Kubuntu 9.04 with 2.6.28-15-generic kernel.

Unfortunately have no SD nor MMC to test if this happens only with SDHC,
but I might be able to get one on Monday, I'll test.

[Bug 318732] Re: Xorg doesn't properly configure nVidia and WXGA screen in Jaunty alpha 3

2009-01-24 Thread Luca Zorzi
I tried both -96 and -180 nvidia driver but they conflict with xorg so it gets
removed. If I reinstall it then nvidia-glx is removed.
I'll try with the legacy -76 driver.

Attached to this post there is Xorg.0.log when starting with the default
nv driver.

[Bug 318732] [NEW] Xorg doesn't properly configure nVidia and WXGA screen in Jaunty alpha 3

2009-01-19 Thread Luca Zorzi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I just downloaded and burned Jaunty Alpha 3, and it doesn't configure my
screen properly on my laptop.

The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5633 WLMi with a nVidia GeForce Go 7300 and a WXGA
(1280x800) screen.
The screen remains completely black, except 2 groups of 4 pixel each on the top
of the screen that are white.

It works in Safe Graphics Mode, but of course the resolution is only
800x600.

I think that this might be due to the nv driver, that used to have some
problems with this card/screen.
If I'm not wrong, Intrepid worked well, while Gutsy needed the safe mode too.

[Bug 42052] Re: Screen not locked on resume from hibernate/suspend

2008-12-15 Thread Luca Zorzi
I think that this is not a gnome-only issue, I have the same one with
Kubuntu Intrepid with KDE4.

It worked perfectly with Hardy, it got broken after upgrading to
Intrepid.

[Bug 292575] [NEW] Gparted: no label editing before writing

2008-11-02 Thread Luca Zorzi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gparted

Sorry for the unclear title, I didn't know how to summarize the issue.

I'm using gparted 0.3.8 in Intrepid Live CD.

When you try to assign a label everything works fine, and 'Set Partition
Label "WHATYOUWANT" to /dev/sda1' is shown in the list of pending
operations. However, if you try to edit it again before applying changes
made, you'll have another 'Set Partition Label...' in the list of
pending operations.

IMHO there should be only one entry with the new label.

[Bug 268502] Re: Bluetooth association no longer works

2008-09-12 Thread Luca Zorzi
I had the same problem with Intrepid Alpha 5, then I tried to send a photo from
my Nokia N70 to the PC (no problem with that), then tried to associate again my
Bluetooth headset and it worked!
I use a D-Link DBT-120.
