[Bug 1068404] Re: 1002:6760 Switchable graphics on Radeon HD 6400M not working again

2012-12-06 Thread Ludo Stellingwerff
@Timo: I understand the frustration, but please reconsider your position! It's
the purpose of any driver to make the system work correctly for the users. In
such cases where there are closed-source drivers involved you might want to
consider those drivers part of the (hardware) system that needs to work. If the
bug affecting the open driver would be in the firmware layer you would also
accept work-around solutions, why not at this level?
Currently Ubuntu 12.10 is unusable for hybrid fglrx/intel setups, Nick's
approach fixes that. I haven't studied the issue deep enough to estimate if a
fix on the fglrx side would be easy. (and if we might expect a fix by them any
time soon) In the meantime many users are left out in the cold.

[Bug 817868] [NEW] Journal entries still approve after error

2011-07-29 Thread Ludo (Neobis)
Public bug reported:

Using the stable of 6.0.2. on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. Same client version is
used.

Go to the following list/form:
Accounting -- Journal Entries -- Journal entries

When creating a new move and the corresponding move lines, all goes well. When
you decide to change the period for one of the move lines, OpenERP comes up
with the standard error:
Error occurred while validating the field(s) line_id: You cannot create
entries on different periods/journals in the same move, which is expected and
logical.

It DOES however approve the move, regardless of the error. It then seems
to fix the period for the move line to whatever the move had in it in
the first place.

When closing the record it always asks to save the unsaved changes. It
does not matter what option you pick in that screen.

Same issue after upgrading form 9.10 (karmic) to 10.04 (lucid).
You need to press enter after performing the scan under X. Works flawlessly
under a tty.

Problem also reported on the following page :

[Bug 468494] [NEW] Amarok 2.2.0 Silent on Package Install

2009-11-01 Thread Ludo Smith
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amarok

Fresh Install of Karmic Koala (9.10). Installed packages for Amarok
(vers 2:2.2.0-0Ubuntu2) and Ubuntu-Restricted-Extras. Loaded music
library.

On pressing play in Amarok, the progress bar shoots from left to right
and no sound is output. Rythmbox / web pages etc play without a problem.

Solution: Install package libxine-ffmpeg using synaptic. Amarok now
plays successfully.

Perhaps libxine-ffmpeg would benefit from being a dependency on the
Amarok package.

no sound came out. Installed package 'libxine-ffmpeg' and it now works.
