[Bug 1913014] Re: No audio on XPS 13 9370

2021-06-20 Thread Lukas Waymann
There's still no audio with kernel 5.4.0-75.84 on the same system (CID
201712-26015). Another XPS 13 9370 (CID 201712-26038) seems to have the
same issue.

[Bug 1925522] Re: Introduce the 465 driver series, fabric-manager, and libnvidia-nscq

2021-05-31 Thread Lukas Waymann
We've tested driver versions 460.80 and 465.27 on Bionic, Focal, Groovy,
and Hirsute. The full results are available at
 and
,
respectively.

We found one potential issue. During some boots, the nvidia-settings
GUI only has the "PRIME Profiles" tab with all other options missing.
This only occurred on Hirsute, primarily on one out of three tested
laptops, and primarily with the 460.80 driver. I could also reproduce
the same issue with the previous driver version (460.73.01). All other
tests were successful.

[Bug 1914374] [NEW] Multiple issues on HP ZBook 15 G7 after installing 20.04.2 image

2021-02-03 Thread Lukas Waymann
Public bug reported:

I've installed the focal-desktop-amd64.iso image with SHA-256 sum
b928163990d9e148605c230c5d3e7bc563bb67269d551f741abc804553f3477c from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/focal/daily-live/20210202.1/ on the HP ZBook
15 G7 laptop (CID 202009-28216).

There are multiple issues:

* The graphical desktop isn't launched. The screen remains black except for a
cursor blinking erratically in the top left corner of the screen. If I hammer
Control+Alt+F[12345] for a while, the graphical desktop starts eventually.
* The screen resolution is 3840x2160 but there is no scaling, so everything is
tiny.
* The touchpad does not work.
* WLAN does not work.
* Ethernet does not work. I tried two dongles (a USB A as well as a USB C
dongle).
* No sound.

I think we've only observed this build failure on machines that aren't
ThinkPads, which may be expected behavior. The tp-smapi-dkms package was
pulled in as a transitive, optional dependency of plainbox-provider-sru:

[Bug 1885087] Re: Can't keep brightness value after reboot/poweroff in some nvidia gfx

2020-12-04 Thread Lukas Waymann
We found that running `prime-select intel` on a machine without an
integrated GPU results in the machine failing to boot. This could be
considered user error, but it could also be considered a regression,
because we didn't observe this behavior with driver version 455.38.

You can find our full test results at
