[Bug 1697717] [NEW] Don't default to storing podcasts in ~

2017-06-13 Thread Luke picciau
Public bug reported:

I added some podcasts to rhythmbox and found they were being stored in
my home directory and not in a directory like ~/podcasts. This quickly
makes a mess of my home directory.

I found this bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/62400 which has
been marked as resolved a long time ago but I am still having this issue
on a new install with the default settings for rhythmbox.

2017-05-29 Thread Luke picciau
Don't think this needs a log file. I have confirmed this on more than
one computer so there shouldn't be any issues reproducing it from the
instructions above.

I'll just add in that the version of ubuntu-gnome-desktop I have as
listed by dpkg is 0.58.3.

[Bug 1694250] [NEW] Capslock remaped to backspace doesn't keep backspacing when held down

2017-05-29 Thread Luke picciau
Public bug reported:

After remapping backspace in the gnome tweak tool holding down capslock
does not continue to remove characters unlike the actual backspace key.
It will only remove one character per keydown.

Steps to reproduce:
* Open gnome tweak tool and go to "Typing"
* Open "Caps Lock key behavior" and select "Make Caps Lock an additional
Backspace"
* Select some inputted text and hold down capslock.

Had another freeze but while it was stuck I got a notification so the
display isn't stuck. The mouse and keyboard don't work anymore but
remain lit up. The power button also doesn't work even though it is set

[Bug 1686329] [NEW] System freezes randomly after upgrading to ubuntu 17.04

2017-04-26 Thread Luke picciau
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to ubuntu 17.04 from 16.10 my system will randomly
freeze after a few hours. Initially the display will stop updating then
audio will stop playing. Nothing but a hard reset can fix it. I have
attempted to switch TTY and use alt+sysreq+1 then alt+sysreq+t still
nothing.

I can't work out how to reproduce this issue but it happens seemingly
randomly fairly often sometimes while the computer is not in use and
locked. I tried switching from unity to gnome to solve the issue but I
have the same problem.

[Bug 1571589] [NEW] Can't map wacom tablet to DVI-D-0

2016-04-18 Thread Luke picciau
Public bug reported:

When trying to map my wacom tablet to my main screen (DVI-D-0) using the
GUI the setting just stays on HDMI-0. Not mapping to a monitor lets me
use the tablet on my main screen but then I am limited to half of the
tablet.

I have tried to map the tablet using "xsetwacom set 14 MapToOutput
HEAD-0" and "xsetwacom set 14 MapToOutput HEAD-1" however both of these
have no affect and the tablet is still mapped to HDMI-0.

[Bug 1550905] [NEW] [MacBookAir7, 1] Backlight control broken. Won't turn on after suspend.

2016-02-28 Thread Luke picciau

The backlight on the MacBookAir7,1 can't be controlled, changing the
brightness setting has no effect on the actual screen brightness. If you
close the lid and the screen turns off it won't turn back on again, the
keyboard lights turn on and you can see the lcd is on if you hold it to
the light but the backlight won't turn back on.

** Description changed:

The backlight on the MacBookAir7,1 can't be controlled, changing the
brightness setting has no effect on the actual screen brightness. If you
close the lid and the screen turns off it won't turn back on again, the
keyboard lights turn on and you can see the lcd is on if you hold it to
the light but the backlight won't turn back on.
