[Bug 1241589] Re: ubuntu 13.10 unable to boot on live usb (busy box - initramfs)
Yes, as above I also used a workaround similar to the one above. I found it here: http://life.paperblog.com/howto-fix-linux-mint-ubuntu-install-from-usb-failure-drops-to-busybox-328258/ I added LIVEMEDIA=/dev/sdc1 I definitely started looking with the attitude that there was no way that I was going to remove the hard drives to install my OS. It looks like something is looking on the wrong disk for the installer. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241589 Title: ubuntu 13.10 unable to boot on live usb (busy box - initramfs) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1241589/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 44805] Re: critical temperature reached with kernel 2.6.15-22-386
I get the same freeze when starting kernel event manager appears on my ibm thinkpad t40 laptop after upgrading to edgy from dapper. If I wait for 2-3 minutes the laptop continues booting and laptop works normally from this point. Still a very annoying bug. -- critical temperature reached with kernel 2.6.15-22-386 https://launchpad.net/bugs/44805 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 66122] Re: boot process hangs in edgy eft
I have this same problem on my ibm thinkpad t40 laptop. If the quiet option is removed from the boot splash you can see that it sops after the message starting kernel event manager comes up on the screen. The progress bar is about 1/6 complete, and after waiting for ~3 minutes it carries on booting. -- boot process hangs in edgy eft https://launchpad.net/bugs/66122 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
