[Bug 902783] Re: "Find Best Server" causes Software Sources to hang
Reinstalled the package. Bug is still persistent. Here's some more info for you: I ran the "check for best server" while I was running System Monitor to get an idea of what was going on. As the check ran, I saw the system opening a whole bunch of sh sessions with PIDs in the upper 2000s or low 3000s. One by one, they all went from "Sleeping" to "Zombie", and when they were all Zombies, that's when the test hung, at around 50% completion. Then I went to close Software Sources, and it hung, at which point I did Force Quit, and then I still had a process called software-properties-gtk open on the system, although it didn't have the special icon that "Software Sources" has. Upon re-running the test from the beginning, at the end I had 2 of these software-properties-gtk processes running, so it seems that they propagate each time the test is run. Public bug reported: There is a Kanji that seems to be missing from the Japanese input system on Ubuntu Oneiric. Since I'm using Ubuntu Oneiric, I obviously can't tell you which one, but the word in Hiragana is おくる, the verb "to send". If you know Japanese or can use the Firefox extension Rikaichan to look it up, you will see which one I mean. Bug is not fixed for me. Steps to repro: On boot, login. Run Firefox in maximized window. Move mouse to left side. Unity launchbar doesn't appear. Run compiz --replace &. Maximize Firefox again. Move mouse over to left side. Launchbar appears. Output of compiz --version: Compiz 0.9.6. No updates to install in apt, so I should have the most recent compiz. [Bug 876305] [NEW] Brightness reset on sleep
Public bug reported: Hardware: Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop circa ~2006. I don't know what hardware specifics are necessary, but if you have questions please ask. If I do not use my laptop for a period of time the computer goes to sleep and locks my screen. When I go to log back in from the screen lock, the brightness has been reset to the minimum setting, so I always have to go and reset it. This happens even when the laptop is plugged into power. Please fix.
