Re: [Bug 1587968] Re: evince insentitive to typing in search, page, zoom, ect fields
I gave up on that ... took "proposed" repo out. I have a couple of deadlines to meet and don't have time to troubleshoot a bleeding edge repository. ;-) On Mon, Jun 6, 2016 at 11:50 PM Sebastien Bacherwrote: > could you try to figure out what updates creates the issue exactly? > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1587968 > > Title: > evince insentitive to typing in search, page, zoom, ect fields > > Status in evince package in Ubuntu: > Confirmed > > Bug description: > Thw way to reproduce: > Open an attached example_file.pdf file. > Press CTRL+F > Try to type something (in my case the field is insensitive, I can only > paste some string). > > The same problem with page and zoom fields. > > ProblemType: Bug > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 > Package: evince 3.18.2-1ubuntu4 > ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-23.41-generic 4.4.10 > Uname: Linux 4.4.0-23-generic x86_64 > NonfreeKernelModules: openafs > ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 > Architecture: amd64 > CurrentDesktop: Unity > Date: Wed Jun 1 17:48:39 2016 > InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-04-02 (426 days ago) > InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.10 "Utopic Unicorn" - Release amd64 > (20141022.1) > SourcePackage: evince > UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to xenial on 2016-04-26 (36 days ago) > > To manage notifications about this bug go to: > > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1587968/+subscriptions > -- How many people can stand on the shoulders of a giant before the giant collapses? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1587968 Title: evince insentitive to typing in search, page, zoom, ect fields To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1587968/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Same here ... seems like a total lack of response / troubleshooting assistance from Ubuntu so I've dropped back to "stock" Xenial and am taking myself off the email list for this bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1588197 Title: Can't type anything in search box To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1588197/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1587968] Re: evince insentitive to typing in search, page, zoom, ect fields
Verified: 1. I can type in the Search field in Evince with my laptop, which does not have "propose" enabled. 2. Evince installed version is evince 3.18.2-1ubuntu4 on said laptop, Attaching "showpkg" for the record - will do the same for the workstation with "proposed" when I get back home. ** Attachment added: "non-proposed.showpkg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1587968/+attachment/4678419/+files/non-proposed.showpkg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1587968 Title: evince insentitive to typing in search, page, zoom, ect fields To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1587968/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1587968] Re: evince insentitive to typing in search, page, zoom, ect fields
I have two systems, a workstation with "proposed" and a laptop with straight Xenial. Both have the same version of Evince. So it's probably an underlying desktop library that recently showed up in "proposed".
[Bug 1588197] Re: Can't type anything in search box
I think the bug is in one of the underlying libraries, not Evince itself - when I enabled "Proposed" it updated a few GNOME libraries but I don't recall a change in Evince itself.
[Bug 1588197] Re: Can't type anything in search box
A little more Google tells me this is probably a duplicate of bug #1587968. [Bug 1588197] Re: Can't type anything in search box
I just noticed this. 16.04, GNOME desktop. I can't remember when the last time I did a successful search in Evince was but it's something I do regularly. Maybe two or three days at most since it last worked. [Bug 1575000] Re: font glyph corruption on dialog box
The workaround is worse than the symptom! I have Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 with [AMD/ATI] Bonaire XT [Radeon HD 7790/8770 / R7 360 / R9 260/360 OEM]. I'm running the low-latency kernel, if it matters: 4.4.0-21-lowlatency #37-Ubuntu I went into the menu as described, restarted LibreOffice Calc and opened the spreadsheet. Instead of garbled test, the dialog box was completely blank. Then ... the screen went totally dark and Ctl-Alt-Delete no longer worked. I ended up doing a hardware reset. Are there by any chance some log files I can attach, or do you already know what this is? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575000 Title: font glyph corruption on dialog box To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/1575000/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
