Here, on 12.04 the default cursor is now mixed with the new cursor (sometimes the original cursor shows, sometime the newly selected one)... Actually I like the mix I have, it is like a chameleonic cursor now :) Example: When resizing a window and hovering over the edge of the window to do so, the new animated cursor shows, but the moment I click the left mousebutton, the cursor changes to the original Ubuntu one (which has no animation), I can now resize the window. [Bug 989879] [NEW] Compiz update to version 0.9.7.8 completely kills display with extra/unsupported plugins installed and enabled
Public bug reported: The logs attached are still from a working system (did not make the upgrade to 0.9.8 on this machine yet), but most recent Compiz update for Precise kills the display completely. It seems that the plugin cube reflection deformation seems to confuse the new Compiz completely, but I am not sure if that plug-in is causing the problem although now Ubuntu seems to render the skydome graphic instead of the desktop background graphic. Windows and menus are not rendered anymore at all, so the desktop is completely unusable now. I also had many problems with the plugins trip, simple animations and the shift-window-switcher. These are all nice, important plugins I would like to continue to use with Compiz (like the deformed desktop cube) and it is a big regression if a lot of great plug-ins are not usable with recent Compiz/Unity versions in Precise anymore. Please do not drop support for these plugins completely. Here it is not fixed yet. Fort my tests I disabled all additional plugins, but I still get the flickering, so I am still forced to use Unity2d here.
