[Bug 1906871] [NEW] CDrom will not mount sound or music CDs; only sound CDs, for data and video CDs it mounts and plays them correctly.

2020-12-04 Thread MTA
Public bug reported:

I had a previous CDdrive that gave me that problem, that is,it stopped mounting
sound and music CDs,
so thinking that it was the fault of the CDdrive,I bought a new one and
installed it, but the problem remains exactly the same as before. It mounts and
plays data and video CDs correctly but does not mount sound and music CDs.A
line appears on the side of the file menu that reads "Audio disk" but when I
click on it it says that the location is not mountable;when I rightclick it a
menu
appears that gives me a few options like mount, eject, format, etc.,but when I
click on mount a message appears that says "Unable to access audio disk
Location not mountable" and no icon appears on the screen. When I asked for
help,"Ask Ubuntu" had me to install "regionset" and I set it to 2 and some
other deencryption program which I do not remember how it is called which,by
the way, I think it is giving me troubles with video playing;but that did not
help neither. So here I am waiting for some help.Thanks.

[Bug 1905085] Re: Error when I type sudo in the terminal. Also I get an error when I am requested to authentycate do not show the line for the password and instead shows an error message

2020-11-20 Thread MTA
I need the authentication screen in order to use the synaptic package
manager and the ubuntu software which I can not access by now and I can
not install any new applications because they ask me for my password; I
can not send you any screenshots of the authentication pop up because it
is modal when it appears and blocks the whole screen,of course,I also
need the sudo very badly to do many things I am currently doing.Awaiting
for your news. Thanks.

I expected it to work normal giving me root access to the commands.

It gave me an error message that says"sudoers.so"must be writeable only
by the user and actually it is set up to be read and write for all, that
was my mistake when I ran a chmod 777 for the whole lib directory since
then sudo does not work and now when I try to chmod without sudo it
says, permission denied and when I try with sudo it gives me the error,so
it is a circle I can not get out of.Another problem I have, probably, from
the same origin,is the authentication label that do not show the line
where the password should be inserted and instead it shows an error
message that says something about the /usr/lib/policykit being restored
to its original state.Well this is all I have to say ,for the moment.
Thanks. Please see if you can help me.

[Bug 1458956] [NEW] missing metalink

2015-05-26 Thread MTA
Public bug reported:

The installation proposes me to delete windows, but I do not want that, when to
the something else option it presents me some options that I do not
understand, something about removing partitions and things like that . Could
you please explain me this something else' option.Thanks.
Now I try to install from windows but it asks me for the metalink which the
14.4.2 version does not have, looking around I found a version of ubuntu that
is 12.4 that has metalink included , that one installs but when I try to make
the upgrade to 14.4 it crashes, well it does not make it,and I end up with an
unusable system. I am using windows 7 home premium.
