[Bug 1630515] Re: topmenu-gtk built against GTK3+ segfaults when clicked

2017-08-08 Thread Mamoru TASAKA
I don't have tried this application, I just came across this bug, but I
guess this is due to structure change written in ./module/gtk3privates.h
(yes, this is originally "private" header in gtk3, so the structures may
change in gtk3).

For example, with gtk+ 3.20, struct _GtkMenuPrivate has more members
than what is written in ./module/gtk3privates.h in topmenu-gtk.

2013-07-14 Thread Mamoru Tasaka
All the above 3 patches were already included in 5.16, i.e.
* xscreensaver-demo does truncate http:// into http:/
* xscreensaver-demo now uses memmove instead of strcpy when source and
destination overlaps, which will _perhaps_ fix some strange about "degraeve"
into "degraee" and so on.

For reference, the diff of demo-Gtk.c between 5.15 and 5.16 is attached.

[Bug 609451] Re: xscreensaver-getimage can't find image on samba share

2012-07-24 Thread Mamoru Tasaka
Reproducible even with xscreensaver 5.18 on my i686 machine (client).

It seems that stat() on the line 1256 in get_filename_1() in
xscreensaver-getimage.c returns -1 with errno 75 = EOVERFLOW. stat(2)
says that this can happen when such application was not compiled with
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 and when using 32-bit platform. However while
stat(2) says that this can happen when accessing too large file, this
issue is not this case. For this case, EOVERFLOW happens because files
on cifs-mounted system can return very large i-node : for people seeing
this issue you can check this by "ls -ali" on cifs-mounted system.

For people seeing this issue: would you try either of the below?
* mount.cifs windows system with adding "noserverino" option
* Adding "#define _FILE_OFFSET_BITS 64" at the top of xscreensaver-getimage.c
and recompile xscreensaver.

Well, if I comment out #undef ENABLE_NLS in xscreensaver.c around line

LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 (note that you can see the name "tasaka1" in the

[Bug 239403] Re: Alexandria crashes on start-up

2009-09-18 Thread Mamoru Tasaka
>From other posts and dump.txt attached on commeit 1,
I guess Alperen is trying to use alexandria in Turkish locale
(i.e. in LANG=tr_TR.UTF-8).

If so, this is due to bugs in both ruby-gnome2 and alexandria.
For ruby-gnome2 side, this was fixed in rev 2857 [1][2]
For alexandria side, this was fixed in rev 1088 [3][4]

[Bug 406534] Re: xscreensaver is not started between sessions

2009-09-09 Thread Mamoru Tasaka
I am Fedora user and I am not familiar with ubuntu, however from
this report it seems that José is using "karmic" branch (right?).

If so, this is due to the change in gnome-settings-daemon 2.27.4
>From "NEWS" file in g-s-d:

==
Version 2.27.4
==
- Remove screensaver plugin, it's autostarted now (Matthias Clasen)
--

So now xscreensaver has to install desktop autostart stuff like
gnome-screensaver does (I don't know where ubuntu installs
desktop autostart stuff, however on Fedora it is /etc/xdg/autostart )

[Bug 418419] Re: [amd64] abstractile crashed with SIGFPE in _init_screen()

2009-08-27 Thread Mamoru Tasaka
I sent the following mail to Jamie.

Hello, Jamie:

When I was searching for xscreensaver bug reports on other distributions,
I found this report:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xscreensaver/+bug/418419

It seems this is another case where xscreensaver's hack (in this case
abstractile) causes SIGFPE when window size is too small (in the report
of this case the window's size seems 448x1, well very strange).
However for abstractile even if the window is not so small (for example
even if I try $ abstractile -geom 60x60) it causes SIGFPE like:
---
(gdb) run -geom 60x60
Starting program: /usr/libexec/xscreensaver/abstractile -geom 60x60
warning: .dynamic section for "/usr/lib/libX11.so.6" is not at the expected
address
warning: difference appears to be caused by prelink, adjusting expectations

Program received signal SIGFPE, Arithmetic exception.

I guess the attached patch should fix this issue. I would appreciate
it if you would apply my patch (by the way I will send my patch to Ubuntu
members
later)

Regards,
Mamoru Tasaka
