[Bug 1107698] Re: removing shadow between launcher and panel
This bug makes the launcher look very awkward when a window is maximized -- there's no shadow between the panel and the window, but there is between the panel and the launcher. In my opinion, this looks sloppy and unprofessional. Additionally, when the launcher is set to appear at the bottom of the screen, it doesn't make sense for the shadow to be there since there is nothing directly above it to cast a shadow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1107698 Title: removing shadow between launcher and panel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1107698/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 947547] Re: The entry "Guest Session" and the Ubuntu logo are barely visible when a bright wallpaper is selected.
The username on the top left is also difficult to read. On light gray wallpapers it practically blends into the top bar. I submitted this as part of a bug (Bug #1042417) but it was just marked as a duplicate of this one. Shouldn't be too hard to fix; the time on the top right of the screen is much more readable, so if the formatting of the username is made to match that of the time, it should look much better. As for the readability of 'Guest Session' and the logo, perhaps you could put a shadow behind those to make them stand out from a light background. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/947547 Title: The entry "Guest Session" and the Ubuntu logo are barely visible when a bright wallpaper is selected. [Bug 1042417] [NEW] Login screen does not look good when using light wallpapers
Public bug reported: The login screen (LightDM) looks great for darker wallpapers, but when I use a lighter wallpaper, two things happen: 1) The white text (for the Ubuntu logo and the other users' names) becomes difficult to read. 2) The computer name on the top left turns gray. The vast majority of the login screen thus becomes quite hard to read when using a light wallpaper. [Bug 776445] Re: Panel disappears after enabling Window Previews in Compiz
This also happens for me with other Compiz functions, such as the Application switcher. [Bug 765338] Re: The dash crosses the monitor boundary when resolution is 1152x864 or lesser width
It would be great if the dash were resizable. [Bug 774610] [NEW] Overlay Scrollbar arrows are off-center for certain themes (e.g. elementary)

[Bug 568634] Re: Ambiance causes odd comboboxes in OpenOffice.org
I find OOo to be one of the apps that I use on a regular basis that looks least like native GTK ... it does fare better with some themes than others, though. I agree with ubuntolo that a project to convert OOo to a GTK interface would be wonderful; I don't think it's very likely to happen, though. -- Ambiance causes odd comboboxes in OpenOffice.org https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568634 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 542211] Re: USB Drive right-click menu is massive.
I completely agree. ... What also bothers me is how much of the menu is grayed out/unclickable. For example, the 'Move to Trash' option really shouldn't be there. It just takes up space without being functional. [Bug 568634] Re: Ambiance causes odd comboboxes in OpenOffice.org
@Vivek - The difference with New Wave is that the buttons are less rounded and there is a smaller amount of transparency around them, so if you look carefully, you'll see that while the theme still doesn't look as good as it does in other programs, the fact is less apparent because of the nature of the theme. I don't know if you can generalize to all dark themes with rounded buttons, though; it's just a conjecture. -- Ambiance causes odd comboboxes in OpenOffice.org https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/568634 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 568634] Re: Ambiance causes odd comboboxes in OpenOffice.org
I tried different themes with OpenOffice, and all of the themes with dark comboboxes and buttons have the same problem.
