I can't understand why such a simple papercut can't be solved and is
being pending since long time.

Secondly, the affected package is "Network Manager Applet" and not just
"Network Manager".
Fixing this bug is so simple. Just open src/applet-device-wifi.c and edit the
line number 1003

To make this work easy, I am even attaching a patch.

[Bug 349622] [NEW] virtualbox-ose-modules for linux kernel 2.6.24-24 are not available in hardy repos

2009-03-27 Thread Manish Sinha
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Hardy just updated to kernel version 2.6.24-24 and this makes
virtualbox unusable since the virtualbox-ose-modules are not available
for that kernel version.

A workaround is to build the ose-modules manually and install it. Here is the
guide for doing the same.

[Bug 294523] Re: ubiquity hangs 82% done configuring apt (scanning the mirror)

2008-12-25 Thread Manish Sinha
I agree with Vishal,
Many of us still have to pay for bandwidth usage per MB. I currently live in
India where I have 1 GB monthly cap. It might seem funny, but its reality in
developing countries. If I exceed my usage then I am charged Rs. 0.90/MB where
conversion rate is 1USD= 46INR

The user should be asked whether they want to install the updates and
even told that the installer will connect to the internet to download
the updates. Many of us can install updates later after installation
using AptOnCD, this way we can save our already expensive bandwidth.

[Bug 286899] Re: Backport geany 0.15 to intrepid

2008-11-22 Thread Manish Sinha
@Dietmar
What more information is required?

I can see that the version of Geany in Jaunty is going to be 0.14 , not 0.15
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/geany/
Intrepid too has 0.14
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/geany/

What needs to be done to make 0.15 available in Jaunty? Atleast each new
version should have newer version of software available.

[Bug 264999] Re: 'jump to line number' limited to 5 digits

2008-11-17 Thread Manish Sinha
Which Geany version are you using?

Am using 0.13 and I can easily type 99 above which its not allowed.
Did you mean that you can type above 5 digits, but cant jump above 5
digit line numbers?

[Bug 286899] Re: Backport geany 0.15 to intrepid

2008-11-17 Thread Manish Sinha
I don't think this comes under Bugs. It can be a request to make the new
version available in repos.
Hardy comes with Geany 0.13 and Intrepid with 0.14. I think this is enough.

Please send discuss this on [EMAIL PROTECTED]
