[Bug 1218309] Re: Gnome-shell freeze
Same here, Gnome Shell 3.12.2 on Ubuntu 12.04. Gnome Shell freezes randomly, for few seconds and comes back after few seconds. During freeze I can move mouse. I guess this is caused by some of extensions, because Gnome Shell runs on single thread using async JavaScript. So if an extension does a blocking non-io bound operation, whole Gnome Shell freezes, while this operation is finished. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1218309 Title: Gnome-shell freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1218309/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 129041] Re: xterm icon available by default
Pleas return back xterm.desktop file. Now Unity, Gnome Shell, Gnome-do, all of them recognize programs by their associated .desktop file. Because of missing xterm .desktop file it is not possible to add xterm to unity's or gnome-shell's dash, also it is not possible to launch xterm trough launchers mentioned above. gnome-shell even does not group several xterm windows, because of missing .desktop file. As I understand all applications must have associated .desktop file to work properly, xterm is not an command line program, so it must have associated .desktop file. xterm can be removed from menus, etc., but it must have .desktop file, because new desktop environments heavily use them in various ways. Don't know if this is related to -intel driver, but I have same problem. When I shut down my laptop, most of the times I ended up with blank screen and flashing led of HDD in my laptop. I just installed http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/x11/xserver-xorg- video-i810 from hardy. Dependencies was ok. Re: [Bug 144175] Re: tilda stays like a gray window
I installed this .deb via gdebi. After first run I got this: tilda: error while loading shared libraries: libconfuse.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory After installing libconfuse0: sudo apt-get install libconfuse0 Tilda started to work and it seems, that Tilda doesn't crashes as before, but still doesn't work. I see blinking cursor at the very top left corner of Tilda's window, but I can't enter any thing. When I starting to type, cursor stops blinking, but entered letters doesn't appears. So at this point Tilda is unusable... I fix that by setting „Run custom command instead of shell“ to my shell. Also, „Always on Top“ doesn't work correctly too. Currently I use compiz, so it is possible that „Always on Top“ problem is related to compiz. When I press a key to show up Tilda window, it pulls down below currently active window, but if I click on Tilda window with mouse, then it stays on top as needed... Any way, at least Tilda started to work! :) Hope those bugs soon disappears too. No, I'm not replaced feisty by gutsy. I'm using only feisty repositories. Also I tried to install .deb package (version 0.09.4-4) from gutsy repository, but gdebi said me, that there is a dependency problem with libc6. So I decided to not broke dependencies.
