[Bug 966744] Re: resume from suspend leaves me with black screen and a cursor
I've exactly the same comments than #30. I've tried with kernel 3.4 : uname -a Linux fitis 3.4.0-999-generic #201204260409 SMP Thu Apr 26 08:17:40 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux. Is it related to that ? http://us.generation-nt.com/answer/3-4-rc1-regression-intel-resume-suspend-disk-hangs-restoring-backlight-state-help-206990502.html I've not tried such a patch. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966744 Title: resume from suspend leaves me with black screen and a cursor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/966744/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 883455] Re: Banshee crashes when Samsung YP-U3 mp3 player plugged in
I've the same bug with the Mozaic Zen model. - If I disable support for mtp devices in the plugins, banshee don't crash and see the mtp device (because gnome as mounted it using gphoto2). - An interesting summary here http://banshee-media-player.2283330.n4.nabble.com/Bonus-Banshee-Bit-for-Nov-4th-2011-So-your-MTP-device-isn-t-showing-up-in-Banshee-td3991346.html For me mtp-detect also gives and libmtp panic. Anyway, support of this mtp player is not optimal. Gnomad, amarok, gmtp successfully transfert (with on the fly conversion) tunes. But the support for cover art is missing. [Bug 778174] Re: Wireless not connecting in 11.04 Intel Wifi Link 5100
In oneiric, the workaround is slightly different: create /etc/modprobe.d/disable11n.conf with options iwlagn 11n_disable=1 NB: I've not tried with wicd since I need vpn which is not supported by wicd. [Bug 776978] Re: everything on screen is garbled apart from the top bar (2 monitors, different resolutions, unity, natty)
Argh... My previous comment was *not true*. The problem is more intricate and the option TripleBuffer has no effect. Under certain combination of suspending to RAM and using a docking station, the external screen is flickering/flashing. Unfortunately, It is difficult to reproduce in a deterministic way. [Bug 776978] Re: everything on screen is garbled apart from the top bar (2 monitors, different resolutions, unity, natty)
After upgrading to oneiric, I experienced another problem. Everything works fine with an old flat monitor with res 1280x1024. On a large monitor (1920x1200, IIyama) the screen is flickering/flashing. There was many messages in Xorg.0.log like that: [ 24055.092] (WW) intel(0): Page flip failed: Device or resource busy [ 24055.092] (WW) intel(0): flip queue failed: Device or resource busy so I've disabled page flipping in /etc/X11/xorg.conf Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Option "TripleBuffer" "false" EndSection (following bug #850628) Performance is a little bit affected but it works. [Bug 776978] Re: everything on screen is garbled apart from the top bar (2 monitors, different resolutions, unity, natty)
Just a comment. When I plug an external display and the screen has some black parts or is totally black, I switch to the console and kill the compiz process. Then the screen is refreshed and I can continue to work... [Bug 535268] Re: banshee creative zen V mtp sync doesn't work at all
I got the same error with my creative Zen Mozaic. I think the bug is related to gvfs which conflicts with libmtp. To avoid the bug, I use the following workaround (but I think it is not satisfactory :-) ) - quit banshee (not close, but quit) - plug your zen - open nautilus clicking on the zen icon in the dock - umount the device ! - open banshee (be sure the mtp support extension is activated) It works for me. [Bug 778174] Re: Wireless not connecting in 11.04 Intel Wifi Link 5100
After upgrade, I experienced the same problems with intel wifi link 5100 at home: I can see the network but I can't connect (wpa personal). Surprisingly, I recently realize that wifi connection was successful at work (WPA_enterprise) and also in another place with some hotspot I've never used. On some other hotspot I frequently use, connection is not possible. I wonder if it is not related to wpa_supplicant rather than the kernel... [Bug 776978] Re: everything on screen is garbled apart from the top bar (2 monitors, different resolutions, unity, natty)
Same problem on a DELL E4200. I was also unable to switch on an external display of 1920x1200 (and switch off laptop screeen). I finally succeed in removing monitors.xml in .config, and restart xorg. I suspect the bug is more related to compiz than xorg. Same issue on a Dell Latitude E4200. Suspend to RAM and Hibernation were working in Lucid. In 10.10 (2.6.35-22-generic) Hibernation does not work (100% reproducible). It freezes after the vt switch.
