[Bug 1078736] [NEW] No gcc headers on stage1 bootstrap

2012-11-14 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
Public bug reported:

We got /usr/lib/gcc/TRIPLET/4.7/include{-fixed} moved from gcc to
libgcc-dev package recently. But this also broke bootstrap of cross
compiler.

With DEB_STAGE=stage1 build we get cpp/gcc packages and do not have
libgcc yet. But we also do not get headers required for next step as
there is no libgcc-dev package.

Have to think how to solve it.

** Affects: gcc-4.7 (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 986724] Re: Lid state changes not detected on Samsung NP900X3B

2012-10-21 Thread Marcin Bojko
@alistair
I have dualboot - Win7 is (for me) really great OS. But i preffer Linux on my
'work' system, that's just it is.
I am able to workaround this bug, not using long suspend (shutdown after work).
It's just a patch but allowes me to use Mint where it is neccessary.
Latest BIOS (10XK) doesn't resolve this bug. I am gonna send an email to
address given by Luis, Samsung Support in Poland is just ... laughable ..

decommissioned already; so there is no way for me to reproduce the bug.

Removing myself from bug, as some people reported that affects them as
well.

Probably due to being on a plane...

work in progress package for Heimdall flasher, but as there is PPA with
it I will take a look there as well.

[Bug 1065331] [NEW] variables defined in maintanier script overriden by global config

2012-10-10 Thread Marcin Antczak
Public bug reported:

This is an upstream bug.

Currently in /usr/share/dbconfig-common/config file there is function
called dbc_go()

This function calls dbc_config $@ few times (Lines 10 and 163).

dbc_config loads global configuration file for dbconfig-common localized
in /etc/dbconfig-common/conf

Values from this file override these provided by package maintainer in
package.postinst etc.

This is unusual and in my opinion wrong behavior.

For example - maintainer wants to avoid dependency on mysql-server
package and wants to enable an ability to configure package with
dbconfig-common and remote connection to some mysql-server on remote
host.

Then in package.config:

dbc_remote_questions_default='true'

. /usr/share/dbconfig-common/dpkg/config
dbc_go dbconfig-test $@

Unfortunately true for dbc_remote_questions_default is overriden if set
in global /etc/dbconfig-common/conf because this config is executed
directly from dbc_go

[Bug 1062137] [NEW] Remove from quantal

2012-10-05 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
Public bug reported:

It's been a long time since last time someone asked me for cross gcc 4.4
or 4.5 targeting armel/armhf architectures. At Linaro we do not even
support those versions any more.

For cross gcc 4.6 and 4.7 I did some patching to make them honour
multiarch so developers can use them for easy cross building of
packages. But I do not have any plans for it for 4.4/4.5 versions of
gcc.

Therefore I request removal of binary and source packages for:

- gcc-4.4-armel-cross
- gcc-4.4-armhf-cross
- gcc-4.5-armel-cross
- gcc-4.5-armhf-cross

I am fine with them in all released versions of Ubuntu but please remove
them from Quantal.

There are no packages in the archive which depend or rdepend on them
(and never was).

[Bug 1051938] Re: Android ADB driver needs root

2012-09-17 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
I do not think that it is possible to create udev rules which would work
for every Android device. That's why there was none of such in package.

Most common way is listing of VendorId:ProductId but with zillions of
devices it would require weekly updates just to keep rules a bit more up
to date.

but it's missing, not running

now I start it by hand with my root account:

# thin start --all /etc/thin1.8
[start] /etc/thin1.8/pocztowka.yml ...
# ps ax | grep thin

[Bug 1042752] [NEW] FFe: new version 1.3.3 with security fixes available

2012-08-28 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
Public bug reported:

This is a request for freeze exception for including newest version of
torcs in Ubuntu/quantal.

New Torcs game versions 1.3.3 and 1.3.2 with security fixes are
available since 2012. Also there are lots of crash bugs in Ubuntu bug
tracking system - new TORCS version shoud fix at least some of these
bugs.

See also CVE-2012-1189: buffer overflow security bug (
http://seclists.org/oss-sec/2012/q1/440 ): http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=660555

1.3.3 version was uploaded into Ubuntu but FTFBS. Attached debdiff
(against 1.3.3-5 from Debian/sid) makes it build (tested on amd64).

[Bug 1042269] [NEW] Disable CONFIG_BACKLIGHT_PROGEAR as it is only for unsupported hardware

2012-08-27 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz

I submitted CONFIG_BACKLIGHT_PROGEAR into Linux kernel long time ago
when I played with ProGear webpad. But as it had Transmeta CPU (i586)
there is no need to build/ship this driver in Ubuntu kernel.

[Bug 1041302] [NEW] python-scientific needs rebuilding

2012-08-24 Thread Marcin Dulak
Public bug reported:

1.
Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Release:12.04

2.
python-scientific:
  Installed: 2.8-2build1
  Candidate: 2.8-2build1
  Version table:
 *** 2.8-2build1 0
500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3.
python -c "import numpy as np; import Scientific.IO.NetCDF as nc; ncf =
nc.NetCDFFile('t.nc','w'); ncf.createDimension('dim2', 2);
ncf.createDimension('n',2); sym = ncf.createVariable('d','c',('n','dim2'));
sym[:] = [' C', ' O']; print sym[:]"

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 1, in
ValueError: could not convert string to float: C

4.
This is probably due to python-scientific being built with an older version of
python-numpy (or python?).
After rebuilding python-scientific according to
http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/20
and installing the resulting python-netcdf the above one-liner works.

[Bug 1026056] [NEW] "8:-1:4: cannot set freq 48000 to ep 0x86" with Logitech Webcam Pro 9000

2012-07-18 Thread Marcin Juszkiewicz
Public bug reported:

I bought Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 because of audio/video quality and
recommendations from other Ubuntu users.

But it randomly works - most of time the only reaction is:

Recognition after insert:

[ 60.616697] usb 1-1.5.1: new high-speed USB device number 8 using ehci_hcd
[ 60.942401] uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device (046d:0809)
[ 60.976594] input: UVC Camera (046d:0809) as

[ 65.990059] usb 1-1.2: usbfs: interface 1 claimed by usblp while
'colord-sane' sets config #1

Audio disaster when try to use:
[ 371.720094] 8:-1:4: cannot set freq 48000 to ep 0x86
[ 388.844268] 8:-1:4: cannot set freq 48000 to ep 0x86
[ 410.764815] 8:-1:4: cannot set freq 48000 to ep 0x86

Ideas? Replugging does not help.

Well, you can disable DGA in Warsow by "/in_dgamouse 0", but it makes
the game unplayable.

[Bug 986724] Re: Lid state changes not detected on Samsung NP900X3B

2012-07-14 Thread Marcin Bojko
@Aviram #27
Bryan's description is very acurate.

@Bryan
As I was saying - blacklisting lpc_ich and/or mei module doesn't work for me.
Blacklisting lpc end with hanged window manager/decorator, blacklisting mei
ends with immediate power hang (no need to wait 6-8 hours).
BTW. I've found quicker way to test suspend hanging - just suspend machine
(closing the lid), connect AC power, disconnect, connect, disconnect - at voila
- hangin' there ;(
