[Bug 54465] Re: Run dialogue : auto-completion doesn't work with gksudo
maybe adding a checkbox saying run with administrator privileges or something like that ? It could be added under the run in terminal checkbox, and it would be hidden/disabled for those users not in the admin group (that allows sudo) -- Run dialogue : auto-completion doesn't work with gksudo https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/54465 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 105256] Cannot easily access properties when panel is full with applets
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel You cannot easily access the panel properties when a panel is full with applets, like the bottom panel in default Ubuntu. In fact, to change its properties, you have to - remove an existing applet (say, the show desktop applet) - right click to the newly created empty space and select properties - change properties - add the precedently removed applet To resolve this bug, I would propose to create a general configuration application that permits to select the panel of which you want to edit the properties. This application would be placed in System-Preferences-Panels Present in gnome-panel 2.16 ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-panel - I cannot easily access the panel properties when a panel is full with applets, like the bottom panel in default Ubuntu. + You cannot easily access the panel properties when a panel is full with applets, like the bottom panel in default Ubuntu. [Bug 105275] New/Delete panel should not be present on popup menu
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel I think that by right-clicking on the panels you should not be presented with the options of creating a new panel and deleting the current panel. Having these options always present may lead some users to accidentally delete the top panel, with no obvious way to restore it. Also, the accidental creation of a new panel may lead to confusion too (since in other operating systems you have not the possibility to create and delete panels). Also, ulterior shock on novice users is generated by accidentally dragging a panel, moving it on the sides of the screen and not knowing how to restore it. I propose to create a configuration application, based on the preexistent properties window and placed on the System-Preferences menu. It should be called Panels, much like Windows. From there you could - Add a new panel, and configure it directly from the app. - Select another preexistent panel (from a combo box, or list), and configure it. - Delete the selected panel, with confirmation. - Restore the default settings for all panels. In the popup menu for every panel shall be present only the Properties item, which opens the configuration application. ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- New/Delete panel should not be present on popup menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105275 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
