Also here with my system. Not being able to boot live (DVD and USB) Kubuntu 13.10. The specs are Core 2 Duo, 4GB, 1TB+160GB+160GB+40GB.
I was thinking that it is may be due some sort of mapping to merge as RAID the both disks with 160GB, some nvraidmapper drive, even though I don't have any RAID config.
