[Bug 1366329] [NEW] Scripted install: Failed to open terminal

2014-09-06 Thread Marcus Ilgner
Public bug reported:

Trying to install the package from within a Vagrant provisioning script,
it fails because it cannot open the terminal when trying to ask whether
the current rules should be saved.

The script could check whether the terminal can be opened. If it can't,
it should use a default confguration (saving the current rules seems
like a good default).

Release: 14.04
Package Version: 0.5.7

Expected: automated installation succeeds
Observed: automated setup breaks

The question would be how to configure the behaviour when in non-

Nevermind, I adapted the script that installs the package to use
`DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive`
Can't seem to close the ticket, though?

As everything worked after updating to a newer kernel, this bug should
probably be closed. Can't seem to find the corresponding option,
probably missing privileges or something.

I'm having the same problem. The server's port is the default, non-SSL HTTP and

[Bug 697309] [NEW] Vinagre crashes X11 on maximize/moving between screens

2011-01-04 Thread Marcus Ilgner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vinagre

I'm not sure if this is really the fault of Vinagre but I couldn't find any
other application to replicate it.
My setup is a dual-head configuration on a AMD HD5750 card, fglrx driver.

When I try to move a maximized Vinagre window to another screen, X completely
crashes. Also unmaximizing and maximizing seems to have this effect, too.
I'm quite certain that this is a new issue as I've been using the application
on this setup for some months now and haven't had this issue since some days
ago.

[Bug 571768] Re: RT2860 wifi card does not work with kernel 2.6.32

2010-05-03 Thread Marcus Ilgner
I just installed kernel version 2.6.34-020634rc6 from the mainline repository
and am happy to report that the card does work correctly with this version.
Also it fixed another problem with digital sound output not working out of the
box and lots of stuttering with custom-built alsa-drivers. If you want me to
test another specific version from the mainline repository, let me know and
I'll give it a try.

[Bug 572192] [NEW] X server crashes when enabling Xinerama (multiple GFX adapters)

2010-04-30 Thread Marcus Ilgner
Public bug reported:

If I enable Xinerama to create a desktop spanning 3 screens on 2 adapters, X
will start correctly and become either unresponsive or crash after about 30
seconds. Everything runs stable w/o Xinerama, with the window manager only
handling the center display.

[Bug 572192] Re: X server crashes when enabling Xinerama (multiple GFX adapters)

2010-04-30 Thread Marcus Ilgner
Further testing suggests that the error is only triggered by moving the mouse
out of the first screen. Also it isn't possible to move it back to the first
screen: the cursor flickers and is briefly displayed back on the main display
then it is flickering again on the adjacent one.
Afterwards, pressing a key on the keyboard seems to shutdown X.

[Bug 571768] [NEW] RT2860 wifi card does not work with kernel 2.6.32

2010-04-29 Thread Marcus Ilgner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.32-21-generic

While the rt2860sta driver does work in 2.6.31-20, it malfunctions with the new
kernel version.
I can scan for and see wireless networks using network manager but no
connection gets established.
Shutting down automatic network configuration and manually writing a
wpa_supplicant configuration file makes the device seem to work for a few
minutes, afterwards it shuts down and cannot be revived.
Using iwconfig doesn't work either.
A Google search suggested that this problem was quite common. One of the
proposed solutions was to switch the access point to WPA2 instead of WPA/WPA2
mixed but this didn't work for me either.

[Bug 554514] Re: cant find resource agents

2010-04-29 Thread Marcus Ilgner
I just came across this error, too. It seems to work now after changing
XDG_DATA_DIRS to include /opt/kde/share as suggested by this posting

[Bug 139941] Re: Could not rename partial file ... Please check permissions

2007-12-19 Thread Marcus Ilgner
Same problem on my system, a current Gutsy Gibbon. I read that there's a
conflict between Kontact and the reminder daemon trying to access the file at
the same time.
I don't know the K-Libraries but shouldn't there be some easy way to lock the
file and fix this?
