That's very poor and arrogant answer about not support these libraries since many commercial third party applications rely on them whether they are ancient or not. By not including the libraries or having some package available for them you're basically telling users to fend for themselves or switch to a distro that has such support. [Bug 72609] Re: K3b temporarily ejects disk before verification
I have encountered this same issue using k3b in Hardy Heron x86_64. After the write is complete, k3b commands the drive to eject the tray. I'm only guessing it sends another command to load the tray so it can begin verification. Unfortunately the tray fails to close. Loading the tray manually has no effect. k3b at this time is frozen, driving the CPU% between 50% and 100%, and will not respond to any mouse clicks. I then have to kill k3b from within System Monitor. I have the exact same problem using x86_64 Kubuntu Hardy. -- K3b temporarily ejects disk before verification https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/72609 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 219285] Re: Hardy Heron: screen turns off, Xorg 100%
The system is still remotely accessible: the webserver is still OK, and I can login using ssh (from another machine). It turns out Xorg is at 100% CPU load (see top below). I thought a sudo kill -9 pid of Xorg would solve the problem, but that killed the remote SSH and HTTP access. I then had to cold-boot the system using the power switch. Having the exact same problem with my Kubuntu 64-bit install when coming out of suspend mode but the difference is that I have a Nvidia GeForce 6200 using the restricted drivers and an AMD Athlon 3400+ processor. Before I upgraded to Hardy under Gutsy suspend worked fine after adding the nvidia parameter to the white-list in the /etc/default/acpi- support file plus some other minor changes. I did purge the acpi-support package then again added the nvidia parameters to the white-list again with no success. The problem occurs with or without Compiz graphics enabled. ** Attachment added: acpi-support http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14707723/acpi-support -- Hardy Heron: screen turns off, Xorg 100% https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/219285 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
