Using kernel 2.6.36 for maverick from the kernel ppa (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.36-maverick/) has allowed me to use xrandr to switch displays without the crash. [Bug 203770] Re: totem-gstreamer crashed with SIGSEGV in pa_stream_update_timing_info()
Had finished playing .wav audio file and totem sat idle for over 1 hour before suspend to ram.
