[Bug 628725] Re: twidge 0.99.4 does not work with the updated twitter API

2012-10-14 Thread Mark Hobley
This has started happening again since 13th October 2012 with version
1.0.8. Has twitter updated something and broken the client again?

[Bug 460743] Re: [LucidKarmic] Cambridge Silicon Radio, Bluetooth Dongles do not work

2011-06-21 Thread Mark Hobley
After opening up one of my dongles with a screwdriver, I discovered that there
is a marking on the board AS3620QA1. This appears to be a code for Accel
Semiconductor, so the devices that are causing an error may not be made by
Cambridge Silicon Radio after all, even though the devices list as Cambridge
Silicon
Radio through lsusb.

Ok, ignore the wording of the advisory. The bug is as I described. If
userlist_enable=YES then vsftpd does not ask for a password if an
invalid username is entered (and therefore it is disclosed that the
username is not valid). I will check the value of local_enabled, when I
return to my computer next week.

[Bug 672328] Re: vsftpd: discloses whether usernames are valid or not

2011-02-27 Thread Mark Hobley
The bug only occurs when the user whitelisting facility is being used (ie
userlist_enable=YES)

http://securitytracker.com/id?1008628

A workaround is to disable the uselist facility and then use PAM to deny
services.

I think this is a kludge. It should be possible to deny by default,
unless access is granted.

Unfortunately, if user whitelisting is enabled, vsftpd skips asking for
the password, regardless of the PAM setting.

We either need a fix to vsftpd to cause a prompt for password, or a
facility to reverse the bug, so it occurs when whitelisting is not used,
but does not occur when whitelisting is used. It does not make sense to
skip prompting for a password for whitelisted users.

[Bug 612880] [NEW] constructs generated by autoconf do not work in the ash shell

Some versions of the ash shell will not allow redirection to a stream
number held in a variable:

following is an example of a code snippet using this construct in a

as_lineno_stack=as_lineno_stack=$as_lineno_stack
$as_echo $as_me:${as_lineno-$LINENUM}: error: $1 $3

2010-07-03 Thread Mark Hobley

would be useful if this could be run via the inetd internet superserver
daemon.
