[Bug 874146] Re: New windows open on the wrong monitor
I've also had this problem - two monitors of equal resolution and the place plugin configuration seemingly ineffective. I think I have a workaround by following comment 10 from bug #930660, specifically: CCSM>General Options>Display Settings: Overlapping Output handling=Prefer smaller output CCSM>Place Windows>General: Multi output mode=Use output device with pointer It does appear to be related to compiz resolution handling, but affects situations where the outputs are the same resolution. Some comments indicate that the relative screen locations in the configuration may also affect this issue, in case that helps with the debugging. A simple test case is to open the print dialog on any application (e.g. gedit) - this used to open on the wrong screen, but is fixed by changing the overlapping output handling. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874146 Title: New windows open on the wrong monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/874146/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 117439] widgets cut off in options dialog
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org In the options dialog, many checkboxes aren't rendered correctly - large parts of them are cut off. This is with current gusty, oo 2.2.0-1ubuntu3 Might be related to Bug #45324, but this isn't about the text problems and shows up all the time. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- widgets cut off in options dialog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117439 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 87621] Margins incorrect in printouts
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: epiphany-browser When printing from epiphany, the edges of the pages are cut off due to incorrect margins. Unfortunately the current version of epiphany (in feisty) doesn't let you specify margins. I'm not sure if this feature has been removed, or the defaults have changed, but I'm sure it used to print ok before. Please let me know if I'm just missing the margins option. [Bug 59081] multipage (2 pages to 1) print function not working
Public bug reported: This is the same issue as in Bug #3667, but with the new gtk+ printing support. The options for multi-page printing is present, but it does nothing. [Bug 46776] Re: Incompatible with full URL HTTP requests from recent apt versions
Matt, How did you perform the check? Adding a simple print statement to the part of the code which is touched in the patch shows the full url here (no other proxies or apt.conf settings). Note that this is only for cases where apt and apt-proxy are running on different machines. Local instances do seem to have just the path (and hence work unmodified). -- Incompatible with full URL HTTP requests from recent apt versions https://launchpad.net/bugs/46776 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 51319] reduce default gtk-menu-popup-delay
Public bug reported: The speed of menus, especially the panel menu, are a very common cause of complaints from users. Part of the performance problem is that there is a 1/4s delay before a sub-menu pops up. I have created a local copy of gtk+ with the default delay set to 0 and the panel seems much more responsive, without any degredation in usability (IMHO). This was achieved with the following patch: Index: gtk/gtkmenu.c === RCS file: /cvs/gnome/gtk+/gtk/gtkmenu.c,v retrieving revision 1.221 diff -u -r1.221 gtkmenu.c --- gtk/gtkmenu.c 14 May 2006 04:25:29 - 1.221 +++ gtk/gtkmenu.c 29 Jun 2006 16:56:45 - @@ -48,7 +48,7 @@ #define MENU_ITEM_CLASS(w) GTK_MENU_ITEM_GET_CLASS (w) -#define DEFAULT_POPUP_DELAY225 +#define DEFAULT_POPUP_DELAY0 #define DEFAULT_POPDOWN_DELAY 1000 #define NAVIGATION_REGION_OVERSHOOT 50 /* How much the navigation region gtk-menu-popup-delay The only reason against setting it to 0 that I've found is: "for usability reasons. If submenus appear immediately upon mouseover, you'll lose the currently open submenu when you accidentally moves your mouse outside the current submenu's space" I've been trying this a few times today and don't agree with those comments. The annoyance from potentially losing a submenu by incorrect mouse movement is far less than the frustration with the menus being slow to respond to your movements. Also, if you do move onto another menu item accidentally the chances are that you won't move back to the original location within 1/4s anyway. Obviously this is all subjective, so I was wondering if you could possibly try applying the above patch to the edgy packages for a few weeks and see what the general user response is. If say the ubuntu forums are full of comments from "power users" saying they love the speed increase then this will be a much better argument for making the change upstream. If there are complaints, it's easy to remove a one line patch. ** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- reduce default gtk-menu-popup-delay https://launchpad.net/bugs/51319 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
