[Bug 593178] Re: Lucid - freeze/crash with antspotlight screensaver

2010-06-30 Thread Mark Hugo
I have installed 10.04 i386 Desktop on 2 Compaq Evo PCs. On both of them
the screen flashes black/white vertical bars when the screensaver kicks
in. The system becomes unresponsive but I am able to do ALT+ SYSREQ+
S+U+B. When entering the screensaver gui to change the settings, the
problems occurs immediately. I managed to increase the idle time-out
using Gconf-editor  apps  gnome-screensaver.

[Bug 426801] [NEW] jaunty usb error

2009-09-09 Thread Mark Hugo
Public bug reported:

 affects ubuntu

Here is what I think may be a bug in Ubuntu 9.04.

I have a custom HID device that I communicate with via a wxGlade
application that I developed. Everything works fine under Dapper (6.06)
and Hardy (8.04 with 2.6.24-24 kernel) and Fedora 9 / 10. The device is
plugged into an external 4-port hub or directly into the PC. When using
Jaunty (kernel 2.6.28-15), I get errors as shown in the attached file.

When the device is plugged into the 4-port hub, dmesg shows 'error -32'.
When I remove the hub and plug the device directly into the PC, dmesg
doesn't give any error but when I launch the application, it fails and
generates the python error as listed.

I have tried various 'remedies' like removing ehci_hcd as posted on
forums but nothing fixes the problem.

Thanks
Mark Hugo
