[Bug 1080169] Re: Cannot select working directory other than own home in applications
Just figured out that the stock kernel (3.5.0-19 in my case) shows exactly the same (wrong) behavior. Also could verify this bug using fslint. Selecting a directory to find duplicates other than own home directory only yields another /home/markus entry. This bug renders many applications useless in daily practice. Please address with respective attention. Thanks a lot in advance, Markus -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080169 Title: Cannot select working directory other than own home in applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/1080169/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1080169] [NEW] Cannot select working directory other than own home in applications
Public bug reported: Linked this report to ubuntu in general, because I discovered this behavior in at least two applications in gnome: 1. Open any libre office app. Go to options, paths, edit template paths. Click add. Choose any path on system, in my case /home-shared/config/templates/startup-templates (which holds standards templates I sync across a number of machines) Click ok The path added to libre office reads /home/markus (my real home folder) 2. Open arista transcoder clieck create conversion click on source Select choose directory Choose any directory on your system Selected directory become my /home/markus directory again. So it makes me believe that there is some thing wrong under the hood in gnome or anywhere else in linux since it affects at least two applications with the same symptoms. [Bug 1041024] [NEW] LibreOffice impress tab stop formatting not working as expected
Public bug reported: Making use of tab stops in impress with right or center alignment does not work. They all behave as left alignment tab stops. This seems to affect impress and draw. [Bug 711284] Re: After natty update today, system is unresponsive and freezes often
Not sure if this relates to this bug, but I figured that natty (kernel 2.6.38-9) starts filling swap space heavily. I have set vm.swappiness=0... during work system keeps swap empty, after half an hour away (system locked) I realize that swap consumes 600 MB, with 1.2 GB out of 8 GB RAM are used. Strange, and this happens on all my natty machines (1 thinkpad, 1 ideapad and two desktop power horses). Responsiveness suffers tremendously. Currently I solve this issue by deactivating swap via swapoff -a and system is as snappy as I am used to from Ubuntu. Any ideas where this behavior comes from? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/711284 Title: After natty update today, system is unresponsive and freezes often -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 672878] [NEW] PST import no longer available after upgrade to Maverick
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Have been using evolution quite a while (since karmic) and imported a number of outlook pst files since then smoothly. I always used the standard import procedure in evolution (file - import - forward - import single file - forward - selected file - selected outlook personal folders as file type - forward - select location etc... I am now running evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu7 with evolution-plugins 2.30.3-1ubuntu7. When I follow the procedure above the file type outlook personal folders is not listed anymore, while the other types such as evolution csv, mozilla csv, outlook csv do appear. The pst file I am trying to import definitely is importable which I confirmed on a fresh install of lucid 10.04.1 in a virtual box. Furthermore I checked plugin settings in evolution. Plugins such as mail-to-task are listed and checked (i.e. the package evolution- plugins seems to work), however there is no plugin Outlook PST import listed within the evolution plugin manager (but it used to be in the lucid and karmic versions of evolution).
