[Bug 1910981] [NEW] USB Keyboard Settings (Repeat rate and delay) Reset After Resume From Sleep
Public bug reported: When using a USB keyboard, my custom Repeat Keys delay/speed settings are lost when my laptop restarts or resumes from sleep/hibernation. A temporary fix is to toggle repeat keys off and on again in the setting dialog, but this only lasts for the current session. [Bug 427168] Re: usb keyboard settings (repeat rate and delay) reset on plugin
I am also experiencing this bug on 20.04.1 LTS. As with the previous comment, the internal keyboard of the laptop works correctly with the delay/speed settings I've set. However my primary keyboard, a USB keyboard, loses the delay/speed settings once the laptop restarts or resumes from sleep/hibernation. I can confirm that toggling repeat keys off and on again fixes the issue temporarily for the current session. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427168 Title: usb keyboard settings (repeat rate and delay) reset on plugin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/427168/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It is likely I suppose. I don't exactly have the one you described, but I do have "libvdpau1:amd64" installed, it seems. Could removing that help? As for changing output... To what? There's quite a few to choose from. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dcguz4a22khrhs6/IMG_20160212_202436.jpg?dl=0 I hope it's unrelated, but my printscreen button doesn't work either (which is why I took the picture with my phone). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1537053 Title: vlc screen always on top, buggly. By the way, just tried SMPlayer and had the same result. I don't know if it helps at all. Most videos work OK with the default player, but VLC seems to be the only one (of the 3 mentioned here, at least) capable of not lagging behind on the 4K video I just downloaded. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1537053 Title: vlc screen always on top, buggly. [Bug 1537053] Re: vlc screen always on top, buggly.
I forgot to add that I originally installled VLC through apt sudo apt-get install vlc when I had the problem, I uninstalled it and tried through Ubuntu Software Center and the problem stayed the same. I also tried to install sudo apt-get install vlc-plugin-* but it didn't help. I tried to collect the desired info with the above command, but because I am not the orginal reporter Launchpad does not allow me to report The problem occurs however after the screen was locked (and shortly after unlocking, for instance if clicking with the mouse or changing to another workspace). The behavior is fairly unpredictable, with one common denominator: the display flickrs, and the GUI won't react anymore or very, very slowlly, and sooner or later stops completely. [Bug 874293] Re: Spyder color 3 not being connected (USB)
I can confirm it's a problem with libmtp. From the argyll devloper: "This libmtp opens every USB device to see if it is a "media" device. This upsets the Spyder3." The workaround is therefore simple: I removed libmtp from my system with synaptic (as a result I lost banshee too), and since then Spyder3 is working like before with ArgyllCMS on Ubuntu 11.10 (both 64/32 bits). [Bug 241307] Re: [Geode SC] [DBE60] kernels >= 2.6.22 fail to boot [A20 interrupt]
If the non-booting happens in combination with etherboot netboot, as found on the DBE60 BIOS, then the problem of non-booting ever since 2.6.23 (perhaps including 2.6.22 in some cases?) is probably related to some low-level loader work in 2.6.23 (involving also the A20 code) in combination with the mknbi created loader code or something along those lines. If the tftp payload if created with WrapLinux instead of mknbi, we have seen working fine boot of vanilla 2.6.34 kernel on DBE60. A user found out that: "Not 100% sure about the cause, but at least mkelf-linux of OpenSUSE mknbi package seemed to hardcode the (empty) initrd option to the image, that stopped the 2.6.22 kernel to start. Workaround was to give empty initramfs cpio file upon image creation, but I found WrapLinux not to have this "effect" and used it successfully instead..." - http://wiki.thincan.org/Talk:DBE60 Perhaps WrapLinux can be tested, and/or the mentioned workaround. -- [Geode SC] [DBE60] kernels >= 2.6.22 fail to boot [A20 interrupt] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241307 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks for your response. The clock applet once and awhile froze my desktop (that is: the panel), but I discovered a work around (killing the gnome panel in a terminal). Perfect! Well, almost. No screens appear - I believe this is because I also *happen* to be suffering from (proposed) bug 216696 - i.e. X detects no monitors as being available. [Bug 216696] [NEW] failing to detect available resolutions, cannot use proper ones (regressed)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati Hi there, This appears to be a regression in the latest hardy. All was working well, I upgraded (~400 packages). [Bug 131615] Cannot increase backlight to full brightness
Public bug reported: I cannot increase the backlight on my Acer 5102WMLi laptop to full brightness. The brightness of the backlight appears to stop at approximately 50%, although this is just a guess. If you increase the brightness during the boot process, you can successfully reach full backlight brightness and it will stay like this as long as you do not attempt to increase or decrease the backlight brightness. If you do try to increase or decrease the backlight brightness, the backlight immediately changes to approximately 50%. The only way to get back to full backlight brightness is to reboot the laptop and increase the brightness back to full brightness during the boot process. Steps to reproduce: - Boot Ubuntu (Gutsy Tribe 4 or Feisty, although may also affect earlier releases) - Hold the Fn (Function) key and press the 'Increase brightness' key multiple times. Notice that the brightness of the backlight only increases slightly and you are unable to reach full brightness. Also note: - Once the '50% brightness' limit is reached and you attempt to increase the brightness further, the backlight flickers as if the 'value' for the brightness of the backlight is being set again rather than ignored. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Cannot increase backlight to full brightness https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131615 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 88426] Re: kmenuedit does not save changes.
I am happy to announce that I have managed to fix this bug! ;) Problem: kmenuedit does not save newly created desktop menu items. Cause: The directory which holds the user .desktop files (~/.local/share/applications) is owned by the root user and group after a fresh installation of Kubuntu Feisty Fawn Final. This directory should be owned by the user, not root. Solution (Fix): The temporary fix is the following command in a console: "sudo chown -R : ~/.local/share/applications" should be replaced with the system usern/group name of the current system user and also note the colon trailing immediately afterwards. If your system user/group name is Mart (as in my case), the command would be: sudo chown -R mart: ~/.local/share/applications The command sets both the user and group ownership of the ~/.local/share/applications directory to your system user and group respectively. This command must be ran as root so triple-check the command is correct before executing it! The permanent fix is to have the ~/.local/share/applications directory user and group ownership set to the system user and group respectively on a fresh installation of Kubuntu Feisty Fawn. Notes: ~/.local/share/mime is also owned by root. Although this doesn't effect this bug, it might be causing other problems. Should the mime directory also be owned by the system user/group? -- kmenuedit does not save changes. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88426 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 88426] Re: kmenuedit does not save changes.

[Bug 88426] Re: kmenuedit does not save changes.
We are experiencing this bug on all our Kubuntu Feisty Fawn machines. Our temporary fix is using desktop shortcuts but we eagerly await a fix. The importance of this bug is fairly high for us as it is effecting the productivity of day-to-day tasks. I have made the following observations: - Folders are saved but items are not. - After a name is specified for a new item, it is immediately lost. - Running kmenuedit as root (via sudo) appears to save the items for the root user. Does kmenuedit read the name from the newly-created .desktop item? If so it probably suggests that the .desktop item isn't being created at all for non-root users. Could this be a permission problem? -- kmenuedit does not save changes. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88426 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
