[Bug 580112] Re: gnome-disk-utility doesn't detect SMART data on T60p

2010-09-29 Thread Martey Dodoo
Based on the behavior I am observing (gnome-disk-utility, skdump, and
other utilities that depend on libatasmart do not work, while
smartmontools does), I have added libatasmart as an affected product. I
was able to find a bug in the freedesktop bugzilla involving similar
behavior in libatasmart; that bug's reporter is also using Ubuntu 10.04.

[Bug 469085] Re: Resume/suspend not working

2010-07-07 Thread Martey Dodoo
My ThinkPad T500 (which uses the Intel 5350 wireless card, which
includes WiMAX) suffered from this (able to resume from suspend only
once) in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx). Testing with the Ubuntu 10.10
(Maverick Meerkat) Alpha 2 LiveCD, I was unable to replicate this issue.

I have upgraded to 10.10, but I am willing to reinstall 10.04 if more
testing is needed to help fix this issue.

[Bug 410152] Re: [needs-packaging] [karmic] Flash Player not updated to 10.0.32.18

2009-08-07 Thread Martey Dodoo
I finally found https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Tags. The bug should have
been tagged 'packaging' instead of 'needs-packaging,' since it is
related to an existing package instead of a request for a new package.
Because of this, I believe that its importance should be changed from
Wishlist.

[Bug 178953] Re: compiz doesn't start if metacity compositor is enabled

2009-05-29 Thread Martey Dodoo
Milan, comment #22

suggests that this is not the case. I found this bug because compiz
could not load because of a graphics driver issue. Even when that issue
was resolved, compiz still refused to load. It was not until I found
this bug that I was able to fix it.

I am using a ThinkPad X40 running Ubuntu 9.04 UNR. netbook-launcher
works fine with the keyboard (tab + cursor keys), but not with the
mouse. The cursor's focus seems to be off, so that icons that are not
underneath the cursor get selected. This only seems to be affecting the
horizontal axis. All other applications have no issues.

This issue also occurred when booting from a USB stick with the Ubuntu
9.04 UNR USB image.

2009-02-24 Thread Martey Dodoo
I am also experiencing inverted horizontal scrolling (moving the scroll
wheel right scrolls left, and vice versa) with my wireless Mighty Mouse
in Jaunty. I have the same vendor/product IDs as bitinerant [05ac:030c].

I compiled a new kernel that keeps the APPLE_MIGHTYMOUSE quirk, but
removes the APPLE_INVERT_HWHEEL quirk. Scrolling seems to work normally
now.

[Bug 308848] [NEW] Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350 not properly detected

2008-12-16 Thread Martey Dodoo
Public bug reported:

My computer is a Thinkpad T500 with the Intel WiMAX/WiFI Link 5350 card.
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 (latest 2.6.27-9 kernel).

lspci detects the card as 03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation
Device 423b. http://www.intellinuxwireless.org/ suggests that the
iwlagn driver should be used, but it is not loaded automatically. No
network interface is created for the device.

Kernel mailing list traffic http://lkml.org/lkml/2008/10/10/475
suggests that the 2.6.28 kernel might solve this issue - one of the
patches is listed as iwlwifi: update 5350 Wifi PCI IDs. It
http://markmail.org/message/qecwaopuy432u6id seems to include the PCI
ID of my specific card, as well as others.

[Bug 122723] [gutsy] USB host controller dies

2007-06-11 Thread Martey Dodoo
The more recent comments on this bug from people running Feisty kernels
sounds more like bug #80893, and not the original issue reported.

[Bug 57310] Re: No support for horizontal scrolling with Apple Mighty Mouse

2007-06-11 Thread Martey Dodoo
I was able to get horizontal scrolling working by modifying my xorg.conf
in Ubuntu Feisty - see http://www.marteydodoo.com/2007/06/08/wireless-
mighty-mouse-on-ubuntu-linux/. Does something similar work for anyone
here?
