[Bug 1256695] Re: cannot create log files in /var/log

2014-05-19 Thread Martin Konecny
This bug appears to still be present as of May 19 2014, on a Trust Tahr
system with the latest updates. Applying the solution of #6 worked for
me.

[Bug 790863] Re: Unable to start lxc container after update to 2.6.32-32

2011-11-08 Thread Martin Konecny
We were looking into using Ubuntu 10.04 + LXC for our SAAS services, but
because of this bug are now looking at Debian Squeeze. Come on
Canonical, some statement from a Ubuntu dev would go a long way here.

[Bug 748516] Re: Eclipse window not identified correctly in Unity Launcher-bar

2011-04-22 Thread Martin Konecny
I have a similar problem.

When I download eclipse as a tar ball, and extract and run the
executable from the terminal (not using a deb package), I get a grey
icon with a question mark over it.

This wouldn't be a big problem, but when I close eclipse and try running
it by clicking the icon, nothing happens except for the icon pulsing
brightness for a few seconds.

[Bug 429595] Re: Atheros Wireless Network Chip AR5212 not detected

2009-11-11 Thread Martin Konecny
I am the original submitter of this bug. How is it that it takes 2
months to confirm a problem (and a pretty big one IMO). Ubuntu 9.10 has
being bad mouthed by a lot of users, and this is the reason why. On top
of it all, it turns out this isnt even a bug, the driver was just
blacklisted and its just a quick 2 second fix by a developer.

Makes me wonder whether my contributions as a beta tester really mean
anything.

[Bug 411695] Re: MASTER - firefox crashed with signal 5 in _XError()

2009-09-21 Thread Martin Konecny
Andrea, you may be right about it being a conflict between ff3 and ff3.5
. When I upgraded to karmic from jaunty, f3.0 remained on my system and
these crashes in ff3.5 happened. When I did a clean fresh install of
karmic, the crashes in ff3.5 disappeared.

It is definitely a firefox 3.5 bug. When I changed my /usr/bin/firefox
simlink to point to firefox-3.0 instead of firefox-3.5 the problem went
away.

[Bug 429595] Re: Atheros Wireless Network Chip AR5212 not detected

2009-09-14 Thread Martin Konecny
I downloaded the nightly build (Sept 14th, 2009) and created a fresh
bootable usb image. The chip is now being detected correctly and working
fine.

This suggests there is some problem with the upgrade routine from
Jaunty.
