I'd also like to know if this is related to PAE. I get the error on a perfectly functioning, but old, IBM Thinkpad T42. I've checked the hardware, and there's no hardware problem here, so my guess is, that it's related to PAE. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid = Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1369247 Title: package linux-image-3.13.0-36-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1369247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1378106] Re: package linux-image-3.13.0-37-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
I get the same error when I do an sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade on Lubuntu 14.04. Because of this error, I can't install any new software because this breaks first. Is there anyway I can tell the package manager to ignore the error and continue installing other packages? If so, please don't hestitate to contact me. I'm running Lubuntu 14.04 on an old IBM Thinkpad T42. I also commented on another thread which is related to this one, asking if it has something to do with PAE? There are no hardware issues with this machine, so my guess is that it actualy has something to do with PAE. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1378106 Title: package linux-image-3.13.0-37-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1378106/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
