You can try the following as a workaround:
When the Popup appears asking you for your password check both checkboxes.
* Save Password for this Session
* Save Password forever
The connection attempt will fail.
After that, open your default kdewallet (for example by entering
kwalletmanager in the console) and navigate to the entry knetworkmanager
- Maps.
You should see an entry for your VPN Connection. Mark it and check Show
Values. Now enter your Password in the Field Value.
Save and close the kdewallet and restart your VPN Connection. It should work
now.
