[Bug 926064] Re: xscreensaver dosen't reset blanking timer on input form some devices
Could "some USB hotplugged devices" include my HP usb keyboard? Xscreensaver kicks in after a while when I'm not using the mouse (working only via keyboard in gnome-terminal). Then desktop comes back on any mouse movement OR keystroke. [Bug 612231] Re: Search gets confused at end of page
We checked things on a debian unstable (run in virtualbox) directly, the bug was NOT present. (Other problems I reported elsewhere: keys z and w, slow rendering, and complete reload of the page during scrolling, are also solved. The only strange thing was half a page of scrolling, rather than one line, for up- or downarrow.) [Bug 612231] Re: Search gets confused at end of page
Thanks. It seems I need some help on that, I'm not an expert. I tried various things on my Lucid from the xpdf download page: - the Debian i386 binary xpdf 3.02-10 didn't start (segmentation fault) - I tried "x86, Linux (staticly linked to Motif, t1lib, and FreeType): xpdf-3.02pl4-linux.tar.gz", it said "libpng.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" even though I have it in /usr/lib - I tried xpdf-3.02.tar.gz: the source code, but couldn't get it to find Motif and FreeType (I installed all kind of related stuff from synaptic, and also tried to feed their paths to the configure script). -- Search gets confused at end of page https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/612231 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 612231] Re: Search gets confused at end of page
Sorry I wasn't clear enough. Resizing (key "h") and then doing the search works well. But this is pretty uncomfortable every time I want the next match of a word. Normally I would keep clicking at "Find" at a larger zoom for subsequent matches. Now whenever a hit is below the bottom of my screen, "Find" does not scroll there but rather restarts matching on the top of the page. This way I'm not getting matches after the bottom of my screen. Please let me know if now it's clear. -- Search gets confused at end of page https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/612231 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 564247] Re: xpdf renders and scrolls very slowly
I can confirm it on three different machines (an older desktop, an Amilo Xi 2428, and an Eee 901), each after upgrading to Lucid. Only the Amilo is fast enough so that the effect is not too disturbing, but the effect is there (cursor switches to the "waiting" circle each time the pdf scrolls by one click of the scroll wheel, as Scott wrote). The problem was not present in Karmic. -- xpdf renders and scrolls very slowly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/564247 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 612231] [NEW] Search gets confused at end of page
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xpdf When searching for text, whenever the page is larger than my screen, and the word is found so that the page needs to be scrolled, scrolling is done, but highlighting immediately terminates, and hitting "Find" again restarts searching on that very same page. Thus search won't advance to subsequent hits as it should. An example is lshort.pdf (can be easily found in google), search for "TeX", for example. This started after upgrading to Lucid, search worked nicely before in Karmic. Scrolling the page manually and then clicking "Find" again advances and shows next hits (until having to scroll again, where it stops as described above). lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Release:10.04 xpdf: Installed: (none) Candidate: 3.02-2ubuntu1 Version table: 3.02-2ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/universe Packages ** Affects: xpdf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Search gets confused at end of page https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/612231 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 611566] [NEW] Fit page and fit width keys (z and w) stopped working in Lucid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xpdf I recently upgraded to Lucid, and noticed that the keys z and w (for fit page and fit width) stopped working. 0, +, - and h work as before, and choosing fit page or fit width from the zoom menu also work. [Bug 293642] Re: [Intrepid] Fn-key locks up computer
As I wanted to check again I noticed that the problem disappeared on my Amilo Xi 2428. Since my earlier post I did an upgrade from Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04, so now: Linux 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux, maybe that solved the problem. -- [Intrepid] Fn-key locks up computer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293642 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 293642] Re: [Intrepid] Fn-key locks up computer
Confirmed on AMILO Xi 2428. I did a showkey log after Ctrl-Alt-F1 and stopping hotkeys, and indeed: my fn-mute, fn-volume down and fn-volume up key releases are not noticed by the system: keycode 28 release (initial release of return) keycode 4 press (tested the stuff by pressing "4") keycode 4 release (released "4") keycode 113 press (pressed fn-mute (fn-F3), notice no release event) keycode 5 press (tested by pressing "5") keycode 5 release keycode 114 press (pressed fn-volume down (fn-F4), again no release noticed) keycode 6 press (test by pressing "6") keycode 6 release keycode 115 press (pressed fn-volume up (fn-F5)) keycode 7 press (test by "7") keycode 7 release These all worked perfectly in 8.04. fn-brightness down (fn-F8) and up (fn-F9) are still working flawlessly. -- [Intrepid] Fn-key locks up computer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293642 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
