[Bug 1172172] Re: Some multitouch gestures not working on 13.04

2013-05-31 Thread Mathijs Dumon
What about these Blueprints and their explicit or implicit mentioning to
increase touch gesture support, regardless of the type of input being
used?

https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/hardware-dx-n-touchpad-support
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/client-1303-unity-ui-windowmanager
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/hardware-dx-n-touchpad-support
and probably more

Please do not remove features for no good reason and in contradiction
with your own goals!!

[Bug 475814] Re: vpnc will only connect successfully on first try per session

2009-11-21 Thread Mathijs Dumon
Hi everyone,

I have the same issue, but only when I set my vpn connection to be
Available to all users. The first time I connect it works fine, if I
then disconnect, or the connection is dropped by the VPN server, I
cannot reconnect. The error nm-applet gives me:

** (nm-applet:4357): WARNING **: _nm_object_get_property: Error getting
'Devices' for /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/8: Method Get
with signature ss on interface org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties doesn't exist
** (nm-applet:4357): WARNING **: _nm_object_get_property: Error getting
'Devices' for /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/8: Method Get
with signature ss on interface org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties doesn't exist
** (nm-applet:4357): WARNING **: _nm_object_get_property: Error getting
'ServiceName' for /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/8: Method
Get with signature ss on interface org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties
doesn't exist
** (nm-applet:4357): CRITICAL **: applet_get_connection_for_active: assertion
`scope != NM_CONNECTION_SCOPE_UNKNOWN' failed

So it seems as if nm-applet is unaware that the connection is dropped
and is looking for a non-existing one which causes a crash in nm-applet.
Restarting network-manager solves this issue, restarting nm-applet does
not solve the issue. So somehow nm-applet gets (wrong) information from
network-manager about a non-existing vpn connection.

[Bug 449762] Re: No sound with intel-hda without alsa force-reload

2009-10-19 Thread Mathijs Dumon
Can you post the output of:
sudo fuser -v /dev/dsp* /dev/snd/*

I had this problem, and noticed the lirc daemon had hooked itself to the
/dev/snd/ device, resulting in pulseaudio being unable to load my
soundcard. After doing:

sudo update-rc.d -f lirc remove

Than I got sound after rebooting. Now I only need to get to start lirc
after pulseaudio starts, but that's another problem

[Bug 449762] Re: No sound with intel-hda without alsa force-reload

2009-10-19 Thread Mathijs Dumon
I found another workaround for this problem: start pulseaudio system-
wide instead of per-user. There is a good explenation of the steps
involved here: http://www.alanbriolat.co.uk/2009/03/mpd-pulseaudio-
ubuntu-intrepid-810/

[Bug 206878] Re: Console text boot instead of usplash

2008-04-15 Thread Mathijs Dumon
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 205990 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205990

Adding my two cents with: ME TOO!

The exact error produced is:
[ 38.996776] usplash[1238]: segfault at b76fc2c0 eip b7eeef19 esp bfdb8c90
error 6

I have the 2.6.24-16-generic kernel and an nVidia graphics card using the
nvidia-glx-new driver
I'm also loading a NTFS partition (my external hard drive) so perhaps it is
related to non ext3-fs, however there's nothing critical stored on this disk!

I noticed that the crash appears right after the NTFS disk is loaded.
I'm going to try to boot without the external disk attached and see what
happens!

[Bug 208863] Re: repository hash mismatch with hardy

I have encountered the same issue when trying to upgrade to Hardy Heron Beta:
The update managers spits out this:
Failed to fetch
http://be.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hardy/main/source/Sources.bz2 Hash
Sum mismatch
Failed to fetch

and after resetting everything it exits...
wrong hashes?
