[Bug 505199] [NEW] Ending path with spaces results in error

2010-01-09 Thread Mats Taraldsvik
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

To reproduce :

Go to nautilus, type 'burn:// ' (without ' , note the space characters
at the end of the path).

--

"Could not display "burn://%20%20/"

Error: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Mountpoint Already
registered
Please select another viewer and try again.

-

I guess some paths do end with space(s). However, could nautilus, if the
path is not found, try to strip the ending space characters?

2009-02-08 Thread Mats Taraldsvik
As I said earlier (

When it does fail, this always work:

1. Turn off bluetooth mouse
2. Go to bluetooth preferences
3. Set to 'temporary available'
4. turn on bluetooth mouse, wait for it to reconnect
5. set back to 'always visible'

automatically, and it still does.

However, every time I stumble upon this other bug (

a reboot. The easiest way to fix this for me, is turning the my hardware

[Bug 305987] [NEW] Sharing is enabled despite the package manager failing to install missing packages

2008-12-07 Thread Mats Taraldsvik
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-share

Issue:

If the package manager is busy when trying to enable samba-sharing, and
you don't have the packages necessary to enable file-sharing with samba,
the packages will fail to install, but sharing will be enabled, and the
"you have to restart your session to enable sharing"-dialog will appear.

Expected:

When the required packages fails to install, sharing should NOT be
enabled, but a dialog with #The package manager is busy, please wait for
it to finsh or close it, and try again ("cancel" and "try again")#
should appear.

To reproduce:

1. open synaptic

2. open nautilus

3. right-click -> Sharing Options

4. "share this folder"

5. (dialog) click install packages.

Ubuntu Intrepid, 8.10.

Notes:

I was listening to a podcast in Totem. Using gpodder.

[Bug 258603] Re: ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_user()

2008-11-04 Thread Mats Taraldsvik
Yeah, I agree with Tim.

A dialog that tells you this is probably related to your home directory,
would be nice.

In my case, I had renamed my /home/username to /home/usernamebak, to
backup my settings, and start afresh with Intrepid. However, I also did
mkdir /home/username, which triggered this bug. A silly mistake by me.
Still, a dialog pointing me in the right direction would be nice.

The router I connect to has no encryption at all, only MAC-address
filtering. (I tried to give the owner a lesson in wireless security, but
he wouldn't listen.)

+1 for restricted manager. No need to "clutter" every system with this
extra module.

[QUOTE]
taken directly from config-2.6.22-generic
# CONFIG_SND_HDA_INTEL is not set

Which explains why the module was not present in my custom kernel either. Once
I compiled it, I got sound.
