Ah... I see what you mean. There is one payment path that is used by all stores around the world. To people in the US (and perhaps other regions), the extra credit card fields might look a little odd. There's a current bug open (bug #527961) about this and we're working with 7digital to figure out how to reduce the confusion (7digital hosts the payment process). Also, 7digital is a UK company so that's probably why fields are defaulting to the UK. Eventually, we will transition most of the music store processes to a more customized user interface built by the Ubuntu One team. I'm currently planning that process. When this is complete, we will have much greater control and be able to implement tighter integration with the desktop (like locale settings). I'm going to mark this as a wishlist item to better represent locale dessktop settings. I had some problems getting it to restart/shutdown using the menu options so I held the power button down to shut it off. Ralph - I understand what you mean. I think I should provide a little more clarification. The company, 7digital, has decided to open a Switzerland-specific store for their 7digital.com brand. That store only sells music that is licensed for Switzerland. Rather than opening lots of country-specific stores throughout Europe and the rest of the world immediately, we have decided to open just a few and try to serve more people with a couple broader stores as well. The broad stores are a temporary measure for Ubuntu One until we learn more about Ubuntu music customers around the world and, for my sanity, build some tools to make managing lots and lots of country-specific stores easier and cheaper. The decision to offer the EU-wide and World-wide stores was a challenging one. But we ultimately felt that rather than excluding regions of the world, we should at least offer something and give everyone a chance to experience the music store. We've learned that managing these stores brings new challenges. Since they don't carry as many (or any) major label artists, it's more difficult helping consumers find albums they might be interested in and highlighting what's new. This will continue to be a challenge for the short term, but we'll figure it out. Thanks for your comments. You are correct that customers in Italy who use the Ubuntu One Music Store have access to fewer songs than 7digital's Italy, UK or US stores. For the Ubuntu One Music Store, customers in Italy have access to the EU-wide store. This means that these customers may only purchase songs that have been licensed by the major labels for multiple countries throughout Europe under the same terms. Unfortunately, this will be a smaller catalog than music that is licensed for individual countries. 7digital has built more country-specific stores for the 7digital.com brand than we have so customers in areas like Italy will see that 7digital offers more music for sale than the Ubuntu One Music Store. This will change in the near future as we launch more country-specific Ubuntu One Music Stores. Currently, there are only three - US, UK and Germany. I think I might be experiencing this issue. I'm running Lucid in VMWare on my Mac and sometimes the primary click of my wireless mouse stops working. Right-click and the wireless keyboard still work though. I don't remember this happening in 9.10. I eventually have to restart the VM to get right-click back. For me, this seems to happen when I have the mouse pressed and am scrolling or moving a window. It's like the mouse doesn't let go. jgonis - Users in Canada access the World store for now (until we launch a Canada-only store). Stores only sell in one currency and the World store is set to Euros.
