[Bug 1839856] Re: Screen resolution on external monitor won't go above 2560 x 1080

[Bug 1839856] [NEW] Screen resolution on external monitor won't go above 2560 x 1080
Public bug reported: I have an external monitor capable of 3440 x 1440. I am using a Thinkpad T480s. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I could set the resolution of the monitor to 3440 x 1440 just fine. Now when I try, the screen goes black and I have to revert to a lower resolution. The highest it will go now is 2560 x 1080. Lower resolutions work fine as well. [Bug 1328616] [NEW] Touchpad working intermittently
Public bug reported: My touchpad only responds about 10% of the time I use it. It's extremely intermittent and unreliable. I use a Lenovo Thinkpad T530 with Ubuntu 14.04, kernel version 3.13.0-29. [Bug 1083984] [NEW] Brightness control doesn't work on Lenovo Thinkpad T530
Public bug reported: Following instructions on https://wiki.kubuntu.org/Kernel/Debugging/Backlight I have tried in /etc/default/grub: kernel parameters acpi_backlight=vendor, thinkpad-acpi.brightness_enable=1. I have tried /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-brightness-control.conf: Option "RegistryDwords" "EnableBrightnessControl=1" I have tried editing /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness with tee None of these have enabled brightness control. If I boot with integrated graphics instead of Nvidia, it works fine. (Note: this laptop has Optimus). Any further suggestions? Bizarre workaround for this bug: cat the file from the command line and then copy and paste it back into a new text file in gedit. [Bug 668415] Re: Movement of Unity launcher
This argument of keeping the launcher near the Ubuntu button is nonsense. The Ubuntu button already appears to be part of the launcher, so if I want to move the launcher to the bottom of the screen, I would *expect* the Ubuntu button to move down there with it, thus making a win-win. Having the launcher on the left side is annoying if you're using Autohide or Dodge settings because when you move your mouse to the left side of the screen, you often cause the launcher to pop up when you didn't want it to. It seems to me that the bottom is more ideal than the left. It gets in the way much less often and is the expected place to find it if you're moving from Windows. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668415 Title: Movement of Unity launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/null/+bug/668415/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 674138] Re: "Global" appmenu breaks sloppy focus
I had a similar problem in windows 7, except that it will allow you to apply the activation delay to focusing a window (I set it to 80ms) which I have not been able to do in linux. [Bug 683133] Re: Keyboard backlight does not work on Toshiba Satellite M series laptops
Jeremy, It is indeed still an issue. Unfortunately I can't check with the latest dev version of Ubuntu as this is a work machine. Sorry! ** Description changed: Disabling ACPI causes the backlight to work perfectly. However, this has the unfortunate side effect of disabling monitor brightness control and suspend ability (and likely other things).
