Some users still found this problem and i'm reporting the bug for them becouse they don't have a launchpad account. The problem appears plugging in a ìn external monitor and only if them are using Unity, with Gnome2 it doesn't happen: the resolution doesn't match the new screen but remain the same as with the normal screen.
