[Bug 1234366] [NEW] cover art not loaded on phones without cellular data
Public bug reported: Build: 75+ We have 3 sample tracks in the sevilerow project that come pre-loaded when you install saucy-customized. When the phone comes up and has 3g the cover art seems to be pulled from last.fm, this works fine for Chris Wayne (cwayne18). However, on phones (like mine) which lack cellular data (3g) the album art is not loaded, even after I enable Wifi and reboot the phone. I think that mediascanner may only scan the files once and hence skips loading the art for mine, but that's just a guess. Repro steps: 1) Install saucy-customized or saucy-proposed-customized 2) Boot the phone without a SIM card or a SIM w/o 3g 3) Note the 3 tracks that don't have any album art. ** Affects: mediascanner (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1234366 Title: cover art not loaded on phones without cellular data To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mediascanner/+bug/1234366/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Freeing memory that is actually needed later will result in a segfault. If this happened users would experience crashes when playing music. However, I feel this risk is mitigated via testing and the fact that this code has been used upstream for over a year now. I did check the gir library because I was concerned that a breakage may affect other pieces, but it appears that only rhythmbox itself and plugins uses it. + + [Explanation of Fix] + I cherry picked commits from June of 2012 from Rhythmbox's git tree to build the patch. These commits are already in use in Q and R. The commits I pulled are from the 2 upstream gnome bugs: + https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=677738 + https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=678208 + + After examining these commits, I found that 7ea940f doesn't apply, the file it patches doesn't exist in this version. Also commit 5b281f5 was + superceded by 7cdf4cd. This leaves the following commits in the patch: 0c5a47c 7cdf4cd fc1e8ca 3dec1ff ad8ab01 96aa2cd 5b281f5 195c2a7 8999cca + + I then built a copy of rhythmbox and installed it. Here are the results + from running Test 1 from above with the patch applied, as you can see + the mem leak is corrected: + + ufa@localhost:~$ while true; do smem -H -P ^rhythmbox; sleep 10; done + 806 ufa rhythmbox 02518827072 36836 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03316835348 45840 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03346035634 46120 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03383636022 46520 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03394036094 46560 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03415636306 46768 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03444036608 47088 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03414036324 46820 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03384435992 46452 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03389636065 46548 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03600038189 48696 + 806 ufa rhythmbox 03472436880 47364 + + + + (original description) + Memory usage : 10.9% and constantly increasing (that's over 400 MB on my system with 4 GB) Playing a playlist of MP3 files. [Bug 1187225] [NEW] autosync_max_age_days doesn't work
Public bug reported: Thunderbird 17.0.6 (17.0.6+build1-0ubuntu0.12.04.1) Ubuntu 12.04 autosync_max_age_days does not appear to be working in precise (12.04). I had a clean precise install (VM and on real hardware). I changed the setting to limit the downloads to 14 days. I then setup my gmail account (IMAP) and thunderbird is downloading everythnig, headers and messages, with no apparent time limit. I expect this feature to either a) only download emails 14 days old or b) download all headers, but only message bodies 14 days old, it is doing neither. For example, I have a folder called Family. Thunderbird has pulled 11M of emails from that folder, which is every single message. Using vi, I can see that it not only pulled all the headers, but all the text of emails back to 2004, including attachments. I stopped using this Folder a long time ago, in fact the most recent email is from 2007, so why is it pulling any of these? I can provide some sanitized mail files or headers if needed or logs.
