[Bug 182738] Re: Different discharge time in battery details and tooltip

2008-11-05 Thread Matthew Flint
I see this too with version 2.24.0-0ubuntu8 of G.P.M, on a Packard Bell
EasyNote A8202 laptop. In fact, it's been like this ever since I moved
from Feisty to Hardy!

Example: tooltip shows 85.9%. The context menu says 51.0%

lshal |grep -i battery shows this:
-
  battery.charge_level.current = 25070  (0x61ee)  (int)
  battery.charge_level.design = 48840  (0xbec8)  (int)
  battery.charge_level.last_full = 29190  (0x7206)  (int)
  battery.charge_level.percentage = 51  (0x33)  (int)
  battery.charge_level.rate = 506  (0x1fa)  (int)
  battery.is_rechargeable = true  (bool)
  battery.model = '01ED'  (string)
  battery.present = true  (bool)
  battery.rechargeable.is_charging = false  (bool)
  battery.rechargeable.is_discharging = true  (bool)
  battery.remaining_time = 178363  (0x2b8bb)  (int)
  battery.reporting.current = 25070  (0x61ee)  (int)
  battery.reporting.design = 48840  (0xbec8)  (int)
  battery.reporting.last_full = 29190  (0x7206)  (int)
  battery.reporting.rate = 506  (0x1fa)  (int)
  battery.reporting.technology = 'Li-ion'  (string)
  battery.reporting.unit = 'mWh'  (string)
  battery.technology = 'lithium-ion'  (string)
  battery.type = 'primary'  (string)
  battery.vendor = 'SIMPLO'  (string)
  battery.voltage.current = 11947  (0x2eab)  (int)
  battery.voltage.design = 11100  (0x2b5c)  (int)
  battery.voltage.unit = 'mV'  (string)
  info.capabilities = {'battery'} (string list)
  info.category = 'battery'  (string)
  info.udi = '/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer_power_supply_battery_BAT0'
(string)
-
and 'cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state' gives this:
-
present: yes
capacity state:  ok
charging state:  discharging
present rate:15961 mW
remaining capacity:  24990 mWh
present voltage: 11892 mV
-

It looks like 51% is the correct figure.

[Bug 188314] [NEW] denyhosts - exception thrown from __send_new_hosts

ii denyhosts 2.6-2.1an utility to help sys admins thwart ssh
hackers

After failed login attempts from a previously unknown host, denyhosts will
submit the host's IP address to a centrally-maintained list. (This is referred
to as sync). This occasionally fails with an exception thrown, the logs
contain this:

2008-02-01 08:56:11,498 - denyhosts   : INFO new denied hosts:

2008-02-01 10:04:44,227 - sync: INFO sent 1 new host

The log claims sent 1 new host, but I don't believe that the send
succeeded.

I don't consider this a security vuln, as denyhosts *does* deny
subsequent connection attempts. The bug only prevents the submission of
the hacker to the central database.

This is denyhosts version 2.6-2.1, Python version 2.5.1.
